During his appearance onThe Graham Norton Show, actorRyan Reynoldsshared the lowdown on what transpired during his little adventure at the border. He revealed his wife,Blake Lively, loves apple pies so much that the actor risked his life and career to smuggle them at the border.
“My wife is a foodie. She loves these apple pies that they make at this place in Vancouver where I grew up so we grabbed a bunch of them, and we’re driving back down to the States, and we were crossing the border; you’re not allowed to cross the border with vegetables. It’s illegal.”

Reynolds sensed that the security officer knew something was up, and despite being an actor, he could not fake his voice. It would raise pitch whenever he bluffs so there’s no way he could cover for these precious apple pies.
“This guy knew something was going on. My voice always gets high when I’m lying. He’s like, ‘You got anything, any sort of fruit, any vegetables in there?’ And I was like, ‘Nooo!’ Basically, he just had me on the hook.”
In the end, the security officer asked the actor about a movie he did in the past and if he remembered the song at the end of it to which Reynolds replied in the affirmative. He was forced to sing the song in his best falsetto, and the next thing he knew, he was on his way to the next stop.

“We really like each other. We really liked each other before as friends beforehand. We like each other even more so now.”
The actor is also a dedicated father. When he announced he would take a break from acting, he meant spending more time with his wife and kids.
“It’s just about being there, it’s just about consistency for me being there in the morning, being there at night. Usually, we travel together, but my kids are in school now and at that age where they can’t, so I got to take a little rest… I’m happy to do it, I’m lucky to do it.”
