The author has created plenty of iconic characters forOne Piece, but not many of them fit into the pirate stereotype: a hook for a hand, a wooden leg, and an eyepatch (optionally an evil parrot for a pet).
However, the spoilers for chapter 1122 ofOne Piece show a silhouette of Joy Boy, and he looks exactly like a typical pirate. This has raised anticipation among fans as everyone is ready for a proper Joy Boy reveal, something that has been long overdue.

The author was itching to draw this character as soon as possible since he had never drawn any pirate with an eye patch before.
So far in the story, none of the characters have received the typical get-up of a pirate, but the elements have been introduced separately. For example, Zeff has a wooden leg, and Crocodile has a hook for a hand, but none of the pirates have all the features, including an eyepatch.

One of his legs seems like a stick, while an arm of his resembles a Lego hand. Both are too thin to be real limbs. Of course, there is no guarantee that the pirate with an eye patch will end up being Joy Boy.
