The production house forMobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercuryhas announced via a teaser visual that the anime’s second season will premiere on April 9. It was also announced that a special program will be broadcast on April 2, in which a new trailer will likely show off what fans have to look forward to.It was also revealed that Yume Miyamoto will return to the role of Nika Nanaura in the new season after a brief hiatus. The upcoming show will be the first Gundam anime to feature a female protagonist and an all-new Ad Stella timeline. The anime’s first season was released in Japan on October 22, followed by releases in the US and Europe viaCrunchyroll. Ichiro Okouchi will be dealing with the series composition while Magumo is credited for the character design. Marie Tagashira, Juro Toida, and Hirotoshi Takaya are also drawing character designs for animation. Takashi Ohmama is attached to the project as the music composer. The anime is being produced through a collaboration betweenSquare EnixFilmworks andSunriseStudios.
A star-studded cast will return for the second season. Kana Ichinose, who preciously appeared in Dr. Stone and Bungo Stray Dogs, will take the role of Ericht Samaya and Suletta Mercury, while Lynn will be involved as Miorine Rembrandt. The cast members also include Yume Miyamoto as Nika Nanaura, Youhei Azakami as Guel Jeturk, Natsuki Hanae as Élan Ceres, and Miyu Tomita as Chuatury Panlunch.
A new timeline called Ad Stella will be introduced with Season 2. It is an era when mega-corporations have entered space to build an economic ecosystem. The story follows a lone girl from a remote planet as she walks step by step through a new world. The Ad Stella timeline also serves as the main setting of the Mobile Suit Gundam’s prologue.
Now that the first season of Gundam: The Witch From Mercury anime is available on Crunchyroll, the platform will likely simulcast the new season as it airs next month.
