God of War Ragnarok Kratos vs Crag Jaw 2

If you’re traveling through Vanaheim, you’ll have the opportunity to face off against tons of optional bosses. One of the bosses you’ll come up against is a drake called Crag Jaw. He’s a fearsome boss that will take you down quick if you’re not careful. Not to worry, we know what you can expect to face during the fight. If you’re here looking for tips and tricks to take down Crag Jaw, you’re in the right place.

Expose The Weakness

When Crag Jaw appears, you’ll see a yellow glowing dot on both front legs.Throw your spears at the glowing dots and explode them to bring Crag Jaw down. Once the you take out its legs, Crag Jaw will be left on its side.

Hammer It While It’s Down

Close the gap while you’re able to and attack Crag Jaw’s exposed stomach to deal as much damage as possible.Continue your assault even as it gets up. The more you can press the attack, the quicker you’ll end the fight.

Unleash Your Rage

If you have your Spartan Rage up, go ahead and use it to speed up the fight. You’ll deal quite a bit of damage while putting Crag Jaw back on its heels. If you’re around half health, this is also useful for healing yourself. There’s no downside to using your rage in this fight.

Red Rings Bring Down The Hurt

When Crag Jaw gets on its hind legs and you see an accompanying red ring, he’s about to stomp and create a shockwave. He’ll often do this several times in a row, blasting shockwave after shockwave at you. Keep dodge rolling away from the shockwaves to avoid getting rocked by a decent amount of damage. Remember that you can’t block these attacks, so dodging is the only option.

Avoid The Bite

At times, Crag Jaw will charge with a bite and an accompanying red ring.Again, these attacks cannot be blocked or parried. You’ll want to dodge out of the way before Crag Jaw can take a bite out of you and your health.

Yellow Rings Can Be Trouble

Head swipes accompanied by a yellow ring can be parried with a well-timed block.Just don’t stand with your block up because it will break your block and swing your shield wide, leaving you open to further attacks.

Avoid The Tail Swipe

When you see the yellow ring and Crag Jaw winding up its tail, it’s about to spin around and take a swipe at you.Don’t try to block this, but you’re able to dodge or go for a well-timed parry. Either option is good, but a parry might let you counterattack as well, making it the best option for maximizing damage.
