The game was originally supposed to release in 2021 but was pushed back by Santa Monica Studio to release on November 9 of this year. The delay, according to an interview after the 2021 State of Play presentation with Herman Hulst, the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s worldwide studios, was “to ensure that Santa Monica Studio can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play.”
The game, according to theShaping the Storycommentary on the PlayStation YouTube channel, is set to be the final chapter of this God of War saga. Many are unsure as to what this means. It could mean that it will be the end of the Norse gods' saga and the game will continue with a new set of gods, but may also be the end of God of War as many know it.
God of War Ragnarok will take place during the events of the world-ending Ragnarök, as the name suggests, and the role that Kratos faces as a father will be expanded upon because his son, Atreus, will be a little older and have more combat experience. The story is said to be just as captivating as the previous one, as many who have had the chance to experience some gameplay have described it, such asFextralifeon YouTube.
