Ken Levine’sGhost Story Gameshas announced its debut title, Judas.
Announced during the 2022 Game Awards, Judas is a “narrative FPS” developed by Levine’s team. Following the release ofBioShock Infinite, Levine rebranded his Irrational Games studio to Ghost Story Games and sought to create a game made of “narrative Legos” that would ensure a unique experience for every player.
The fruit of Ghost Story’s labour is Judas. Described by Steam as a “narrative FPS,” Judas looks to be in the vein of BioShock. The description for the trailer, viewable below, reads “A disintegrating starship. A desperate escape plan. You are the mysterious and troubled Judas. Your only hope for survival is to make or break alliances with your worst enemies. Will you work together to fix what you broke – or will you leave it to burn?”

The atmospheric trailer is set to the popular sea shanty “Johnny, Leave Her” and contains everything you’d expect from an Irrational (now Ghost Story) game. There are powers flicking to life in the palm of the player’s hand, an eclectic-looking cast of characters and that general sense of calm foreboding that Rapture always instilled in you.
The biblical nature of the name Judas in combination with the trailer’s description seems to suggest this game will be centred around Machiavellian political games, in addition to the usual action you’d expect from Levine’s work.
Immerse sim probably isn’t a term Levine would appreciate being used for Judas, judging by ourrecent interview with the creator.
How much of Levine’s “narrative block” pitch has come to fruition remains to be seen. There is no further information available on the game’s release date, but it is now available towishlist on Steam.
