As we’re heading closer and closer to the end of the Childe limited gacha banner, miHoYo published the Character Tales trailer for Zhongli, the next character to be featured inGenshin Impact(PC,PS4,PS5, Mobile,Switchsoon).First off, this Character Tales takes place before the Rite of Desencion. As in, before the Traveler, the protagonist ofGenshin Impact, reaches Liyue. The Character Tales shows us a glimpse of a day at work for Zhongli. As the consultant of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Zhongli examines the wares received and decides whether to purchase them or not. He’s also regularly in contact with Childe from the Northern Bank, as one of the associates of Wangsheng. The two are often seen eating together at Xiangling’s restaurant. Zhongli is highly regarded by his subordinates and the boss of Wanhsheng,Hu Tao.

Moreover, miHoYo is slowly revealing the English cast ofGenshin Impact, the actor for Zhongli was announced as well: Keith Silverstein. His seiyuu (Japanese voice) was already revealed to be Tomoaki Maeno a little while ago. That was before the game launched. Personally speaking, as a huge otaku and seeing English isn’t my native language (it’s French), I prefer the Japanese dub. As seen with this Character Tales video, the English dub is particularly nice however.
Similarly to allGenshincharacters with a Chinese name, Zhongli is named differently in Japanese. Zhongli is named Shouri in Japanese.
It’s also interesting to note that for once, all the versions of the Character Tales trailer were published at once: Japanese, Chinese (not on YouTube), English, andKorean.
