The game rating committee in Taiwan revealedÂGenshin Impact, the free-to-play action JRPG by miHoYo, has been rated onPS5, meaning it’s possible a release date for a native PS5 version will be announced soon. (Thanks,Gematsu).Genshin Impactis currently available onPC,PS4, iOS, and Android. ASwitchversion wasannouncedback in January 2020, long before the game’s official release date on July 16, 2025. However, the Switch version has no release date yet. In the past, miHoYo mentioned it had no plans tolaunchGenshin ImpactonXbox OneorXbox Series X.It’s important to noteGenshin Impactis technically already playable on PS5. But throughbackward compatibility. With the PS4 version of the game. PlayingGenshin Impacton PS5 grants player faster loading times and better graphics.However, a native PS5 version ofGenshin Impactcould include even better improvements overall, and could be the ultimate console experience for the game.
Genshin Impacton PS5, When’s The Release Date?
miHoYo did not officially announce a native PS5 version ofGenshin Impactyet. However,Genshin Impactwas featured during thePlayStation 5 Showcase event on June 12, 2025. It’s possible it will make an appearance again on the upcoming State of Play on June 04, 2025.
The State of Play this Thursday will include both PS4 and PS5 games, so we could see an announcement forGenshin Impactthen. Whatever happens, we’ll be sure to tell you as soon as we can.
miHoYo releasedGenshin ImpactVersion 1.3on February 3, addingXiaoand theLantern Festivalevents. miHoYo has not officially announced a release date nor any of the details for Version 1.4 yet. There are severalleaksgoing around but you should definitely take them with a grain of salt, and I personally won’t be sharing them, as they concern content still in development and subject to change.
