Genshin Impacthas been one of the biggest releases of 2020, and it seems like the game has carried its success to 2021 as well.

A major update is slated to release forGenshin Impactnext week, marking the debut of an all-new playable character, Yae Miko. As fans are waiting for the update, some interesting details have surfaced regardingGenshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Boosts US Mobile Game Spending By 69%

In a recentreport by Sensor Tower, a provider of performance metrics in the digital ecosystem, the US mobile game has witnessed significant growth in 2021. It states that the player spending in action games stands at $966.8 million which is just shy of a $1 billion industry. However, what is impressive is the fact that the figures have been up by almost 69% as compared to the previous year, which is quite impressive.

The report uses Sensor Tower’s Game Taxonomy and Game Intelligence features to accumulate the growth of all the gaming genres. It has figures of 14 main game genres and compares their downloads and revenue on the App Store and Google Play.

Out of the almost $1 billion revenue, a whopping $418.3 million belongs to the Open World Adventure subgenre. Now what’s more surprising is that almost the entire chunk of that amount is attributed toGenshin Impactas it has accumulated almost $406.3 million during the year. The subgenre has witnessed 3.5 times growth as compared to the last year.

WhileGenshin Impact’s overall success was pretty evident, the fact that it has managed to outperform some insanely popular titles in the mobile industry as well is something that is very impressive. The majority of the credit for this goes to the developers, who have been actively adding new content to keep the fans engaged. With a slew of updates slated to arrive in the next year, it’s only about time these figures witness exponential growth once again.
