Destiny 2fans want some changes in Xur
Even thoughDestiny 2has undergone numerous changes over the past seven years—including the addition of new locales, weapons, activities, and core systems—Xur hasn’t really changed all that much.
WithThe Final Shapeexpansion, the tentacle-faced vendor of exotic goods saw a change in format and a permanent location, but aside from that, he still shows up on Friday, sells his wares, and disappears with the Weekly Reset. Some players have suggested that Xur should receive a proper redesign as part of Bungie’s ambitious 2025 roadmap because of the game’s alleged lack of innovation and stale design.

Players have a weekly limit on how much they can purchase from Xur because he isn’t eternal, especially since some of his items, like Exotic Catalysts, can cost up to 71 Strange Coins each.
One frustrated user posted onr/DestinyTheGame,“Capping Strange Coins at 99 doesn’t make any sense,”in frustration. Pointing out that after activities rotate, players must wait for Xur to return, it rewards players who have more time to play Friday through Monday and penalizes those who have more time to play during the week.
The whole community is frustrated too
The community is obviously not entirely satisfied with Xur’s design, as evidenced by the responses urging Bungie to keep the exotic vendor’s inventory rotating on Fridays while also allowing him to remain for the full week.
Without unjustly penalizing players who are unable to play on the weekends, this fundamental modification would ensure that Guardians still have an incentive to log on and check out what he has to offer.
As we enter an unprecedented year where 2025 is make-or-break, it will be interesting to see ifBungie takes any of this feedback into account. The studio plans to release two mid-sized expansions, promising significant updates along with free seasonal content. Not only that,Bungie is also gearing up for a mobile counterpartas well.
