Adam Smasher: once a pushover, now a formidable foe. After receiving a pretty major update inCyberpunk 2077’s 2.1 patch, Adam Smasher went from an easy boss fight to a damn intense one. But that hasn’t stopped five separate players from defeating him over 100 times, according toCD Projekt Red.
If you’ve completedCyberpunk 2077, you’ve likely already faced and defeatedAdam Smasher. However, there are a handful of alternative endings achievable in Cyberpunk 2077, and not all of them feature this iconic showdown with Smasher. In total, there are six different endings, but only four of them include the Adam Smasher fight.

I Still Can’t Get Cyberpunk 2077’s Endings Out Of My Head
Wrong city, wrong people.
After fans labelled theAdam Smasher boss fight as “underwhelming,“CD Projekt Red opted to buff the villain with some new move sets when it released the 2.1 update back in 2023. In the patch notes, CD Projekt Red announced that it had “improved” the boss fights with Yasha Ivanov, Boris Ribakov, and Adam Smasher, whilst also noting that Smasher would now be able to activate Sandevistan.
For those unaware, Sandevistan is an operating system that was first featured in the anime spin-off series,Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners. This status effect can be used to slow down time for a short duration, with the potential to increase critical chance and damage.

While it did increase the overall difficulty of the fight substantially, apparently that hasn’t stopped a handful of players from defeating Smasher over and over again.
Cyberpunk 2077 Players Really Love Defeating Adam Smasher
In arather unexpected post on X(formerly Twitter), Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red revealed that five separate players had defeated Adam Smasher over 100 times each. What makes this achievement even more impressive is that this isn’t since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, but rather since itscritically acclaimed DLC, Phantom Liberty.
“Sometimes, mercs take on a job just for the satisfaction of revenge. And what’s better than cutting down Adam Smasher to size again and again… and again? Five Vs took special pleasure in defeating Arasaka’s pet cyberpsycho and each dispatched him over 100 times,” CD Projekt Red said in a new post.

The post doesn’t make it clear how these five players went about defeating Adam Smasher. Did they complete the whole mission 100 times? Or did they repeatedly reload their save to the moment before the boss fight? We’ll never know.
Unfortunately, we’ll probably also never know who these five individuals are, as CD Projekt Red didn’t reveal their details. But let’s face it, you’re probably well aware if you’ve defeated Adam Smasher over 100 times.
