The Last of Usseason 2 of HBO’s fungus-infected show is excitedly getting more packed by the minute and now, another ruthless villain has entered its gates. Jeffrey Wright, who has starred in American Fiction and Westworld, has reprised his role as Issac Dixon, the powerful leader of the Washington Liberation Front inTLOU Part 2. The Golden Globe Award winner lent his voice to the same character in the game and is now set to bring those incredible acting chops to season 2’s main tyrant.

Now, due to a behind-the-scenes image of Wright as Issac and dressed in his military gear, there’s a good chance fans could see more of the mostly unknown characters' backstory in a flashback.

Sony Appears To Have Completely Fabricated A Neil Druckmann Quote On Naughty Dog’s Next Game

Druckmann says his recent quote about “[redefining] mainstream perceptions of gaming” with his next project isn’t entirely accurate.

Possible Isaac Dixon Backstory

Not much is known about the calm and collected yet cruel leader of the Washington Liberation Front (WLF) in his appearance in part two other than he served in the Marine Corps and then later became one of the first members of the WLF, nicknamed “Wolves”.

In new on-set images of Wright as Issac, we see the antagonist dressed in aFEDRAmilitary outfit, which suggests that The Last of Us season two might hark back to Issac’s past, or at least broaden his story arc more than what was shown in the game. Something fans have really wanted to know more about.

Throughout Naughty Dog’s Part 2, players can uncover pieces of Issac’s life through notes found in the game. One was a letter from Issac to an informer, or “rat” who pretended to be part of the opposing group, FEDRA, in a bid to gain inside knowledge to use to his advantage. The other was a note to one of his WLF soldiers over their concerns about his plans to strike a final blow against the government agency group.

Although Issac was never a part of the FEDRA in the game and fought against them tirelessly, the image of him in the group’s military outfit could also indicate that he has become or was a spy, like his former soldier. Whatever the reason, it’s great to see this incredibly complex character seemingly have more light shone on them. Maybe this could mean other briefly mentioned characters could also receive a backstory too?

“I would love it if they did a whole episode on Boris. Like how they did Bill.” - said RedditorMelissa Mae

A fan favorite is Boris, a skilled archer before the apocalypse who lived in the Hillcrest suburb with his daughter Sofia. Players uncover more about Boris, again, through notes found in the game, and learn that his daughter was killed by the WLF, where he then waged a war against the group.

The Last of Us 2

After being sealed in a garage by his so-called friends in a bid to save themselves, Boris is infected, left to turn, and is only found again when Ellie 1v1s him to obtain his bow. This is certainly a route fans of the game and the show would love for HBO to reveal more about, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for when season two rolls around next year.
