Figurine fans, this one’s for you. Both Amazon and the Square Enix online store has released severalFinal Fantasy VII Remakefigurines for preorder including Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Barret, and Sephiroth. There are two types: the first are three statuettes of Cloud, Aerith, and Sephiroth and second type are action figures.

The other big difference is the price. While the static versions range from $40 to $50, the posable ones are all priced at $155. A full breakdown of each figure and where to buy them:

Square Enix also has figurine sets currently on preorder of the main cast in theiroriginal PS1 polygon graphics, as well as asmall figure setof the cast in theirRemakeincarnations. Keep in mind that both of these sets are blind boxes, meaning that the actual figures you receive are randomized.

Artists from other development teams have been joining in on the fun as well. In celebration of the release ofFinal Fantasy VII Remake, Bethesda Softworks and id Software recently released a special piece of artworkfeaturing the Doom Slayer. The artwork itself is a homage to the key art ofRemakewith Cloud and his Buster Sword overlooking the city of Midgar and the Shinra Electric Power Company. However, in this version it’s the Doom Slayer overlooking the depths of Hell while wielding the Crucible.
In an interesting twist, the director ofRemakeTetsuya Nomura was the one to propose the originalFinal Fantasy VII’smost shocking moment. As previously revealed,Final Fantasy VII Remakehasmany new elements to itand Scenarist Kazushige Nojima even explains how herewrote Cloud for the remake.We alsotranslated commentsfrom Nojima about howFinal Fantasy VIIinfluencedFinal Fantasy VIII. In an interview posted throughSquare Enix, Co-Director Naoki Hamaguchi and Producer Yoshinori Kitase talk about their reasoning behind making some bold changes for the remake of such a beloved game — namely whySephiroth was introduced so earlyin the game.
We also translatedthe short filmmade to promote the remake. Square Enix, meanwhile, is currently working on thesecond and possibly last episode. Square Enixreleased a trailerrevealing the theme song of the game calledHollow, along with with many iconic moments and returning faces from the original PS1 classic. Square also announcedthe Orchestra World Tour, which will bring orchestral performances of the upcoming game’s soundtrack to cities in the US, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, and Japan. The tour will start at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA on June 14th, with the tour scheduled to run through February 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
