Of the numerous couples and probable life partners that such platforms have helped bring forward, most have the potential to go terribly wrong. Yet, contestants come forward season after season in the hopes of finding their better half, or at least love and companionship in the process. Among these star-crossed lovers are Big Ed and Liz Woods.

90 Day FiancéRaises the Stakes Emotionally

After a tumultuous relationship that lasted a little over 2 years, Ed Brown aka Big Ed and Elizabeth/Liz Woods have finally become a topic of safe conversation. The couple who first met in 2021 at a San Diego restaurant aired their romance on90 Day: The Single LifeSeason 1.

Their relationship has only gone downhill from there as Big Ed and Liz Woods became trapped in a toxic cycle of on-again-off-again romance. In an interview withPeople, Big Ed addressed his first breakup with Woods by taking accountability for his actions.

The timing wasn’t right and it was rushed — we both rushed things. I wasn’t a good boyfriend. I didn’t treat Liz like she deserved to be treated.

Later, their eventual reconciliation following a brief stage of depression was chronicled in the second season of90 Day: The Single Lifespin-off. In November 2021, the couple announced their engagement saying,“We are each other’s forever, and, yes, we are engaged.”

Big Ed Crossed a Line By Breaking the Engagement

The beginning of end of Big Ed and Liz Woods’s relationship began in Season 2 ofThe Single Life. As other cast members acted as the voice of reason and good conscience, Big Ed and Liz Woods had to face their long-awaited reckoning. Debbie Johnson, a fellow cast member, faced off against Ed, saying:

You’re not in love with her, you’re using her. You are desperate. Everybody knows that. You don’t love anybody except yourself.

Meanwhile, Liz Woods’ conflicting emotions toward Big Ed further led some tension to filter into their relationship, thus giving ammunition to their fellow co-stars to use against the couple.

On the day of their engagement party, things finally came to a head when Big Ed and Liz Woods got involved in a massive fight, marking the most explosive moment in the entire Season 7 of90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? However, thebreakup didn’t last, and after numerous other reconciliations and break-ups,Big Ed committed an egregious mistake–– he called off his wedding to Liz Woods with no warning whatsoever.

Further proof of irredeemable behavior and cruelty toward Liz Woods was brought to light during their meeting at the coffee shop. After being constantly manipulated and controlled by Big Ed, his inconceivable attitude in light of their broken engagement was the final straw for Woods as well as the viewers. The extent of Big Ed’s cruelty was exposed when he used the classic “It’s not you, it’s me” card, hoping to gain a final sense of control over the situation and an upper hand over Woods in the conversation.

As of 08 June 2025, Big Ed is officially engaged to 29-year-old Porscha Raemond just 24 hours after they first met.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?airs on TLC every Sunday at 8 PM EDT.
