While Team Asobi’sAstro Bothas quite a few character cameos from other games, it’s limited to games that appeared on PlayStation platforms, which is perfectly understandable. Well, one fan has decided to create their own Astro Bot game, and this one sees Sony’s character in unfamiliar territory: Nintendo’s world.

HotzTendo has posted multiple video clips of the project being built on Unity3D. Check out what they plan to be the opening stage, and even a boss fight.

The next clip features a dinosaur battle, with a familiar star appearing at the end and even Mario’s voice. I’m not 100% sure, but the dinosaur might be Bowser.

These side-scrolling fantasies will make you fall in love through aesthetics.

I expect both Sony and Nintendo’s lawyers to send their legal hounds after this to take it down—regardless of whether it’s a non-profit project or not. Video game companies are very, very protective of their IPs and usually aren’t keen on letting modders and other people use them for their own projects.
