Bethesda did not want to take the easy way out with this update by just giving you a Ghoul skin to roam around in but rather wanted to have that transformation make an impact on gameplay by building some cool elements around it.

Bethesda is coming up with an extremely well-thought-out Ghoul update for Fallout 76

For the first time in the history ofFallout 76, you will now get a chance to transform into a radiation-afflicted Ghoul, which will change the entire experience of playing the game. It is going to affect the way you approach survival in the game, NPC interaction, and much more.

However, you will need to hit level 50 to become eligible for the transformation. Once you hit that, you will be given the chance to turn into a Ghoul through a story-driven questline, which will enable you to meet up with a team of researchers and outcasts who will help you in your transformation.

The lead producer, Bill Lacoste, shared his opinion on the matter. He talked about how the team was against taking the easy way out. Hesaid:

We aren’t going to give players just a stupid outfit that doesn’t have any effect on anything else—that’s a really easy way out.

Now once transformed, everything will completely change for you. For starters, the radiation won’t cause any harm to you, and you’re able to move about freely; the radiation will rather have a positive impact on your stats; it will provide you with healing and a buff.

Instead of worrying about food and water, you will now just need to maintain a Ferel meter, and its depletion will make you lose more of your humanity in return for strength.

A lot of thought has gone behind this update

Bethesda seems to havereally thought the entire update throughas it is one of the most elaborate ones yet. Fans of the game have long been waiting for an opportunity to play as a Ghoul, and now they finally have the chance to roam around as a feral abomination.

However, once transformed, you will get one chance to change back into your human form. After that, your free attempts at human transformation will be exhausted. The Ghoul update is expected to hit the market somewhere around early 2025.

Once you are a Ghoul, you will need to strategize and approach the game differently than you used to. Nothing will remain the same, and one needs to be aware of that before attempting the change.
