Sony’s PS Plus promotion has played host to some massive games over the years. We’ve hadUncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare RemasteredandBatman: Arkham Knightto name just a few. While between them they’ve no doubt racked up some impressive download numbers, it’sone of this month’s gamesthat has eclipsed them all.Tweeted from the official PlayStation Twitter account, they confirmed that a little game calledFall Guys: Ultimate Knockouthas become the most downloaded PS Plus game of all time.
Fall Guysis absolutely the game of the moment and it’s hard to scroll through any form of social media without seeing something related to it.

It’s no surprise that the game has reached the pinnacle of PS Plus withFall Guysnotching up some incredibly impressive early PC sales numbers. Within the first week or so,Fall Guysmanaged to achieveover 2,000,000 sales on Steamand becameDevolver Digital’s biggest launch in history in the process. That’s all taking into account that the game costs $19.99 on PC, so with the game completely free on PS Plus it’s hard to imagine how many downloads it’s received.
The team at Mediatonic seemed bewildered by how successfulFall Guyshas become, with the officialTwitter accountresponding to Playstation’s tweet saying “Yo, remember when we were saying we had no idea just how big the game would be at launch? Well, look at this…”
The game is closing in on a month now and we’re quite a way into Season One. With the game taking the seasonal approach that many others before it have taken, it will be interesting to see what’s still to come. Thankfully we won’t have to wait too long, with a sneak peek atFall GuysSeason Twocoming during Gamescom Opening Night Live tomorrow. The game will be featured alongside other favourites that includeRatchet and Clank: Rift ApartandCall of Duty Black Ops: Cold War.
If you haven’t grabbed your free copy ofFall GuysÂyet, now’s the time, as come the end of August it will no longer be free.
