The developers state that Area 99 celebrates retrofuturism art style, so gamers will come across a lot of designs and architectural aspects inspired by the aesthetics of classic media and diners of the 1950s. The map will also have an official mascot called“Archie Atom,”who can be spotted on signs and billboards all across the map.

Area 99’s scale is quite similar to the Rebirth Island map, with the developers stating it’s a compact and focused location. As a result, gamers will get into gunfights instantly after dropping in.

This new map, combined with the upcoming omnidirectional movement system, will certainly elevate the experience for everyone. However, many in the community believe that Treyarch’s design approach for the brand-new map has made it quite dull.

Excited about the movement, but the map is looking dull. Would love to see more color

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to release on October 25.

With the last couple of entries in the franchise, gamers have shared their displeasure with the game maps feeling dull as they simply lack vibrant colors, which we’re used to seeing in other major FPS games.

Currently, there’s still no release date for the battle royale’s Season One. So, we can keep our fingers crossed. We hope the developers take the player feedback into consideration and make necessary tweaks before releasing the map.

What is Omnidirectional Movement?

Black Ops 6is all set to overhaul the franchise’s movement system with the introduction of omnidirectional movement. What’s even better is the fact that this system will carry forward Warzone with the next Seasonal update.

The system will debut alongside revamped HUD customization forBlack Ops 6. Some of the HUD options will include disabling it completely, relocating the mini-map, centering the various HUD elements, and creating a layout designed for streaming.
