In Journey to the West, tasty drinks are ingrained in the culture of the Monkey King Wukong and his fellow simians.

This is probably why the Destined One’s chosen source of self-care inBlack Myth: Wukongis various kinds of magical, finely-aged wines.

Best Curios in Black Myth Wukong

Black Myth Wukong: Best Curios Ranked

Curious about curios? We have the answers you need.

Some of these are obtained around the world, while others are purchased from local alcohol enthusiast Shen Monkey. No matter where you get them and what they’re made of, each one will sooth the Destined One’s weary body and soul.

There are nine different drinks to uncover throughout the game with various supplementary effects, some more overtly useful than others.

Pinebrew in Black Myth Wukong

When You Need To Focus Up In A Hurry

Each sip recovers 35% of Maximum Health. When Health is below half, using the gourd grants a considerable amount of Focus.

Everyone loves the sight, smell, and aesthetic of fresh pine trees. As it turns out, they apparently make some decent booze as well.

Thousand Days' Inebriation in Black Myth Wukong

The Pinebrew sold by Shen Monkey restores a modicum of health, but its proper effect only kicks in when you’re at critical health.

When healing at less than half health, you’ll gain a large quantity of Focus, enough to use Focus Attack at least.

Lambbrew in Black Myth Wukong

It’s not unhelpful, but Focus is more readily gained from combos, and there are better effects you could get from a drink.

8A Thousand Days’ Inebriation

Each sip recovers 60% of maximum health, but for a brief moment, inebriation impairs movement.

It makes sense that wine brewed for a celestial being would have a lot more punch to it than the mortal stuff. Godly beings have godly livers, after all.

Worryfree Brew in Black Myth Wukong

We can observe the effects of heavenly wine on a mortal body with A Thousand Days’ Inebriation, Shen Monkey’s finest vintage.

When imbibed, A Thousand Days’ Inebriation restores the most health out of all drinks, but also leaves you drunk and stumbling for a few moments afterward.

Such a trade-off means the large heal is only useful if you can secure a moment’s respite in the middle of a fight, and that can be hard to come by.

A Little Heal Now, A Little Heal Later

Each sip instantly recovers 20%/18% of maximum health. For a brief moment after, slowly recovers 25%/48% of maximum health.

Nothing says devotion like a platter of the finest wines and meats. Apparently, Lambbrew is the kind of wine that would be included in that platter.

Lambbrew, found within Sandgate Village in Yellow Wind Ridge, has a taste that takes some time to appreciate.

A sip provides a small heal, followed by a gradual second heal over the next few moments. Upgrading to Dry Spirit increases the quantity of the second heal.

A staggered heal could be helpful in some situations, but it might be more efficient to get the same effect from the Celestial Lotus Seeds soak.

6Worryfree Brew

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Each sip recovers 24% of Maximum Health. When at Critical Health, massively increases the recovery.

They say hunger and thirst are the best flavorings for any food or drink. Perhaps the same could be said for being near death.

The Worryfree Brew, found in the Verdure Bridge of Webbed Hollow, only shows its value when you’re on death’s door.

While a normal sip only restores a bit of health, a sip at critical health restores you nearly back to full.

It’s a bit of a risky maneuver, holding off on healing until you’re nearly dead, but it does help to optimizehow you use your gourd.

5Bluebridge Romance

Put Some Pep In Your Step

Each sip instantly restores 36% of maximum health and moderately increases movement speed.

The idea of energizing alcohol seems kind of contradictory, but if Four Loko could do it, why not magic wine?

Bluebridge Romance, found along the shores of Bitter Lake in the New West, provides one of the very few ways in the game to increase your movement speed.

Black Myth Wukong: How To Craft Medicine

Become the best monkey alchemist the world has ever seen.

Every sip restores a decent amount of health and increases your movement speed for a brief period.

The Destined One never seems to move quite as quickly as you’d like, so any little boosts in speed you can get are beneficial.

4Coconut Wine

You Can’t Beat The Classics

Common/Uncommon/Rare/Epic/Legendary/Mythical

Each sip restores 33-55% of Maximum Health. (upgrade dependant)

When you’re craving booze, but all you have is coconuts, well… you make booze out of coconuts. As it turns out, it’s pretty good!

Coconut Wine is the default drink that the Destined One starts the game with.

At first, it’s nothing special, but when you upgrade it withAwaken Wine Worms, it starts to outpace other drinks in raw healing potential.

Its perfected form, Jade Dew, will restore more than half of your health with one sip, the value of which should be obvious.

3Loong Balm

Lights A Fire In Your Belly

Each sip recovers 30% of Maximum Health and considerably increases Damage executed by the next attack.

If the numerous tussles withbeasts like Kang-Jin-Loongin this game didn’t make it clear, dragons know how to pick a fight.

If you want that same fighting spirit from your spirits, try the Loong Balm found in the Emerald Hall of the Flaming Mountains.

This spicy brew provides a big damage boost to the next attack you perform after taking a sip.

Not only that, but it’s the only drink in the game with fourslots for extra soaks, giving it a greater degree of customizability.

2Jade Essence

A Little Magic In Every Drop

Each sip recovers 36% of Maximum Health and a moderate amount of Mana.

Getting drunk on regular wine might make you see some bizarre imagery, but getting drunk on magic wine will let you create bizarre imagery.

If you’re in a spell-casting mood, you’ll enjoy the Jade Essence from the aptly named Valley of Ecstasy in the New West.

Every sip of this drink restores not just your health, but your mana as well.

There are few easily accessible ways to restore mana at all, so having one you’re able to reuse regularly will allow you to keep up the pressure in an intense battle withyour strongest spells.

1Sunset Of The Nine Skies

A Quick Sip To Raise Your Spirits

Each sip recovers 35% of Maximum Health and grants a considerable amount of Qi.

A bit of ol’ liquid courage can help to center you in a tense moment. Since some of the Destined One’s abilities are powered by his inner Qi, he could always use some centering.

The twilight taste of Sunset of the Nine Skies can be experienced at the Temple of Yellow Flowers in the Webbed Hollow.

Every sip restores both your health and your Qi meters. Remember, both spirit transformations and vessel abilities like theWeaver’s Needleare powered by Qi.

Getting your Qi back quickly means being able to use some of your most powerful, potent abilities multiple times in a single fight.
