The 81st Golden Globe Awards were certainly exciting and like everyone, Mark Ruffalo and Ramy Youssef couldn’t contain their excitement. 2023’s Poor Things won the Best Motion Picture award and the film’s stars Ruffalo and Youssef kissed as soon as the film was announced as the winner.
People on social media recalled something similar that happened 7 years ago when actor Ryan Gosling won the Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards. As soon as it was announced that Gosling’s the winner, Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds were kissing each other at their table.

“Well my mouth was going towards his mouth,” explained Youssef and Ruffalo then added, “And then and then the next thing mine went to his.”
Mark Ruffalo and Ramy Youssef further explained that they were just so happy to see the movie win the prestigious award. Their co-star Emma Stone also won the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award for her work in the movie. The film was released in the United States on June 02, 2025, and has been well-received by the fans as well as the critics.

Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds also kissed when Ryan Gosling won an award
7 years ago, at the 74th Golden Globe Awards, a similar incident happened when actorsAndrew GarfieldandRyan Reynoldstried to steal the spotlight from Ryan Gosling when he won the Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award. Garfield later explained the reason behind the kiss onThe Graham Norton Show,
“I said to Ryan Reynolds ‘If you win, kiss me instead of your wife.’ He said, ‘Yeah, that’s great.’ And the plan was that he would kind of move towards his wife, and then kind of last minute lean in to it. And then he didn’t win, much to our disappointment, so I said to Ryan, ‘We can still just do it if we want.’ And he was game.”
Reynolds was nominated for his role in Deadpool but Gosling took the award home, thanks to his outstanding performance as Sebastian Wilder inLa La Land. Coincidentally, Stone won the same award back then for her role inLa La Land.
