Quick Links
Elden Ringgives players hundreds of weapons to choose from when rounding out their build. Since its release, Strength-focused builds have been incredibly powerful, sacrificing speed to be able to make slower, but harder-hitting, attacks. Strength-focused builds do allow for an incredible amount of damage but sometimes fall off due to a lack of damage options.

Some enemies or bosses may have very high physical resistance, making a strength-build struggle to get in adequate damage during a fight. While other damage types will require a few points to be invested in different stats, bleed can be used to further lean into pure physical damage to take down any enemy, and theFlambergedoes just that. Being a larger weapon, its bleed effect from each hit is higher than that of smaller weapons.
Where To Find The Flamberge
To find the Flamberge, head toCaelid, theeastern continent covered in Scarlet Rot. At thesouthern endof that continent will be theRedmane Keep, where you find Radahn’s festival and fight the Starscourge himself. For those returning after defeating Radahn previously, there will be a new boss fight of two smaller bosses in the Plaza.Whether you’re entering the castle for the first time or teleporting into theChamber Outside The Plaza Site of Grace, head towards the middle of the main path through the castle until you reach the stairs with the portal on the middle platform.
Behind this portal and up the stairs will be a side building you can enter, with a ladder leading to the upper walls of the castle.Head up the ladder to face a pumpkin-head on the roof. The heads of these enemies is where their armor is strongest; aim low to deal your usual amount of damage while avoiding its headbutts from their armored helmet.Straight behind the pumpkin-head enemy will be a corpse that can be looted, obtaining the Flamberge.

Using The Flamberge
The Flambergerequires 15 Strengthand14 Dexterity to wield, scaling more from your Dexterity stat. This weapon does standard physical damage, with a decent amount of bleed build-up for each successful hit. This weapon does a decent amount of base damage and, over time and with more upgrades, will slowly have itsDexterity scaling outpace its strength, making it an ideal greatsword for Dexterity builds.
This weaponcomes with the Skill Stamp (Upward Cut), which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It can be infused with other ashes of war, and just about any other ash is recommended. There are a few bleed ashes available that are recommended tofollow up on the build-up this weapon already naturally deals with. For those looking to maximize this weapon’s usefulness, invest a few points in arcane, and make this weapon’s significantdamage-dealing quality be the bleed effect.
