FromSoftwaregames are already known for their extreme difficulty, and I’m here to tell you thatElden Ring Nightreignmay be the hardest of them all. As such, there’s absolutely no shame in admitting that you may need an extra hand to get through all of the Nightlords in the game, which is exactly what we’re here for.
To go along with an increased chance of death and failure throughout the entire game, Nightreign is also just fundamentally different from the original Elden Ring and every other title that FromSoftware fans have come to love and adore. This is a cooperative multiplayer, roguelike-style game full of RNG and unpredictable challenges you’ll be faced with every time you open the game.
If all of that wasn’t already enough, Nightreign just feels different to control from Elden Ring itself, and also introduces many mechanical tweaks to the already-established formula that will take some adjustment time for veteran players to adapt to. You’ll come to master everything over the course of your game, but getting started here can still be tricky.

Getting Started/How-To Guides
With such an intense learning curve to Elden Ring Nightreign, everything we have collected below is your best bet to figuring out how to find some success of your own. Veterans, enthusiasts, and newcomers alike all have a thing or two to learn in the freshly discovered land of Limveld.

Nightfarer Character Guides
Another massive thing to adapt to in Nightreign is the fact that you’re required to select one of eight pre-made characters (Nightfarers) to play as. Gone are the days of agonizing over loadouts, armor sets, or even equip loads.
You’ll start with six Nightfarers, but unlocking the remaining two will happen very early on in the game. Since all eight classes handlesodrastically differently and comes with a specific set of skills, it can be difficult to nail down which one you’d like to play as.
Allow us to explain each Nightfarer to you so you may make the most informed decision possible.
Nightlord Boss Guides
Undoubtedly, your biggest challenge in Elden Ring Nightreign will be the major boss fights themselves. This probably doesn’t come as a surprise, but the Nightlords you have to take on are grueling endurance tests the likes of which we’ve never seen in a FromSoftware title.
In order to have any actual chance of survival in these skirmishes, you’ll need to work flawlessly as a team and do every ounce of prep work going in as possible.
Below is the most we can offer in terms of boss woe remedies, since you’ll ultimately need to tackle them yourself, after all. Best of luck, Nightfarer.
Random Event Guides
In addition to simply surviving until Night 3 and trying to defeat the Nightlords, Elden Ring Nightreign will also periodically pepper in more events and mini-quests in order to keep runs feeling as fresh as possible.
You’ll face random “raids” courtesy of an extra-strong boss where they’ll randomly spawn into the game just to mess with you. You’ll also have to navigate slightly tweaked map layouts during Shifting Earth events, which also create new areas to explore and special gear to acquire.
You won’t need these guides for reference every single run. But if you happen to get the right RNG and need some extra help with these too, we’ve got it sorted.
Nightfarer Remembrance Quests
There isn’t atonof outright story progression in Nightreign, as you’d probably expect by now in a FromSoftware title. Even so, the Nightfarer Remembrance quests are some of the most straightforward narrative devices we’ve ever seen from the developers.
Each character has a section of a journal that’s kept in Roundtable Hold that details some of their pasts and motivations. Certain chapters of this journal feature objectives you can accept, each ultimately leading to things like special relics for a specific Nightfarer or a cool, new costume to wear.
The guides below will show you how to complete each individual Remembrance quest for your favorite character. These are worth your time if you want to spice up your standard expeditions and get some new gear for your efforts.
By design, Nightreign has a lot of options to consider. Things like choosing the best Nightfarers, considering the strongest Ultimate Arts, and even the available costumes you’ll outfit yourself with are all things to factor into your decision-making process.
