While the first anime season ofEdens Zerohas been completed, the manga is still ongoing, and original creator Hiro Mashima just revealed a new JRPG spinoff project he’s working on.

Hiro Mashima, the mangaka ofRave, Fairy Tail,andEdens Zero, revealed he’s making all by himself a brand newEdens Zerogame. Mashima first revealed hisEdens Zerogame through his personal Twitter, during a Space he held on June 22, 2025, as pointed out by our Japanese peers atDenfaminicogamer.

Hiro Mashima is seemingly using RPG Maker and described hisEdens Zerogame as a “hobby project” he’s working on during his free time.

When is Hiro Mashima’sEdens Zerogame coming out? On which consoles, and how much it’ll cost?

Hiro Mashima explained his self-madeEdens Zerogame should be released for free in early 2022. No platforms were specified but it’s highly likely it will only launch on PC.

During his Space stream, Hiro Mashima also revealed hisEdens Zerogame features B-Cuber Rebecca Bluegarden and Happy. The duo needs to explore a haunted mansion. The mansion has several puzzles the players will need to solve to progress while being wary of Rebecca’s remaining HP and Blue Coins.

Fairy Tail’s Hiro Mashima and his love for gaming

Hiro Mashima is one of the most successful mangaka out there. His shounen series are among the most popular worldwide these days together with Kohei Horikoshi’sMy Hero Academiaand Gege Kutami’sJujutsu Kaisen. BesidesEdens Zero,Fairy Tailis technically still continuing with100 Years Questtoo,which recently got an anime announced.

In particular, Mashima can draw pretty fast, which explains how he even manages to find the time to make a (small) game while serializing manga. Mashima also regularly shares on Twitter his impressions on his recently cleared games.Back in January 2020,he highly praisedYakuza: Like a Dragonafter the game was released in Japan.

Konami is currently developing anEdens Zerogame for consoles. A mobile game isalso in development.
