Via anews poston the officialEAwebsite, the publisher confirmed that one of their subsidiary teams, Montreal-based Motive Studio is working on a third-person action-adventureIron Mangame. It is touted to have an original narrative that taps into the rich history of the character, and though the game is still in the pre-production stages of development, Motive’s goal with the game is for players “to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man.”
Bill Rosemann, Vice President and Creative Director atMarvel Games, shared his enthusiasm in this post, first praising Motive’s ability to work with established franchises, and then outlining his lofty ambitions for the title. He stated that the team’s authentic passion for the character “will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.”
The project is being led by Oliver Proulx, currently Executive Producer at Motive, who previously worked on Eidos Montreal for 8 years as a producer on relevant titles such asMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and the single-player component ofMarvel’s Avengers. Proulx joined Motive Studio in March 2022, possibly in part because of his expertise in making games within the Marvel brand.

There had beenprior rumorsthat EA was developing an Iron Man game, but the information wasn’t concrete there was little else to say, until now. It’s worth noting that the term ‘open-world’ is conspicuously never mentioned throughout the post, suggesting that this may be a more linear experience, akin to Guardians.
The title is still in the early stages of development, so you shouldn’t expect any substantial showcase any time soon. The post ended with a hiring call, meaning that, besides just announcing the project to fans, EA is likely trying to lure in high-level talent that would want to work on such a popular franchise. They also described this game as “an exciting new collaboration between Marvel and Electronic Arts,” and “the first of several new games.” It wasreportedover a month ago that EA was supposedly also working on a AAA open-worldBlack Panthergame.
