Pragmatais one of the biggest projects Capcom currently has under wraps, and it’s possibly the most ambitious game the Japanese company, used to sequels and remakes, ever did in a decade - willPragmatashow up at E3 2021?

Pragmatais a next-gen project by Capcom, and a brand new IP, with a 2023 broad release date on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC via Steam.Here’s what we know on the game so far, our thoughts, and an overview of the situation with leaks and rumors.

Pragmata- The story so far

Capcom first announcedPragmataat the PS5 “Future of Gaming” showcase on August 17, 2025. Back then, a mysterious cinematic trailer was shared, and before the Capcom logo showed up, many actually expected some kind of spin-off or sequel to Hideo Kojima’sDeath Stranding.

Pragmatais often nicknamed by fans “Capcom’sDeath Stranding” as the game’s reveal trailer was particularly mysterious, and truth to be told, hard to make sense of.

The trailer featured a character wearing a technologically advanced spacesuit that definitely felt like a creation of Yoji Shinkawa, the character designer and mecha designer ofMetal Gear SolidandDeath Stranding.The character can be seen exploring a space colony, and ending up encountering a mysterious girl.

While Capcom already statedPragmatais an action-adventure game, no actual gameplay was shared yet.

Following its reveal trailer,Pragmatawas announced for a 2022 release on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X. However, the Covid-19 pandemic greatly affected Capcom’s plans.

A few months later in January 2021,Sony announced new release datesfor several upcoming PS5 games,includingPragmata, which was delayed from 2022 to 2023.As of now, Capcom has yet to reveal anything else about the game, besides stating that it’s hard at work at creating the title, which uses ray-tracing and features an immersive sci-fi setting.

Will Capcom showcasePragmataat E3 2021?

Right after its announcement on June 13, 2025, Capcom promised more details onPragmatawould be coming in 2021. We’re already in June 2021, and we have yet to hear anything.

E3 2021 would be the perfect occasion forPragmatato make a comeback. Moreover, E3 2021 will mark the first anniversary sincePragmatawas first announced.

Capcom’s leaks andPragmata

When it comes to rumors and leaks, it’s also interesting to note that there are in fact, no trustworthy information concerningPragmata. Capcom has managed to keep the lid tightly shut on the game, despite the various hardships the company went through.

In case you’ve forgotten, in November 2020, Capcom was the victim of a massivecyberattack and ransomware attack, resulting in the leak of thousands of confidential documents and data, including the personal information of Capcom’s staff. Making the whole situation dangerous for Capcom business-wise, but also for its employees.

The leaks included information on nearly every Capcom IP and franchise:Ace Attorney, Dragon’s Dogma, Mega Man, Power Stone, Final Fight, Monster Hunter, Resident Evil,orStreet Fighter. And yet, nothing was leaked onPragmata.
