They say time heals all wounds, but it also comes with a decent dose of frustration when we talk about release dates.Dune Awakeningdeveloper Funcom has heard plenty about that after it announced thatits ambitious upcoming MMORPGwould have to wait until June 10th to see the light of day.

In hopes of cooling things down, the company has decided to remove the requirement to sign an NDA from its upcoming playtest, which is slated to be the biggest yet.

Ina press releasetoday, Funcom said that this beta weekend “has no NDA, meaning all information is open to share, and the game can be streamed for all to see.”

The decision to move away from NDAs is not exactly an innovative one, but it follows a growing trend toward transparency between major game developers and players.

Earlier this week, Destiny developer Bungieremoved NDAs from the alpha playtestsof the extraction shooterMarathon. Meanwhile,EA has decided to keep NDAs in its Battlefield Labs program for nowas the playtests are still considered too far from the final product. This has not stopped leakers fromputting out hours of footage.
