Now thatDragon’s Dogma 2has been out for a while, there’s a good chance you’ve stumbled into one of the most complex and interesting late-game quests,A Game of Wits. In this quest, you’ll have to answer 10 riddles posed by none other than the Sphinx.

Drakes are fearsome creatures, most commonly known as dragons. Here’s where to find every drake in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Although you are able to answer some incorrectly, doing so can mean you will miss out on some great treasures hidden behind each correct answer. To ensure you don’t miss a thing, we’ll walk you through the answers to every riddle, and how to defeat the Sphinx and finish the quest.

Sphinx Locations
Throughout this quest, you’ll have to correctlyanswer10 riddles posed by the Sphinx. This takes place in two completely different locations, so before you even begin trying to solve riddles,here’s where you’ll find the Sphinx.
The first place you’ll find the Sphinx is in theMountain Shrinein NW Vernworth. This location can only be accessed by heading through the Ancient Battleground area, foundnorthwest of Harve.
The second location you’ll face the Sphinx will be theFrontier Shrine found just north of the Battahl border. While you can journey to this place before completing the first of the Sphinx’s riddles at the Mountain Shrine, the Sphinx will not be there until after all Mountain Shrine riddles have been answered.

Mountain Shrine Sphinx Riddle Solutions
Once at the Ancient Battlefront, climb the castle walls and follow the path to the east. Eventually, you will reach the Shrine where the Sphinx is located and will be able to choose which of the five riddles you wish to answer first. Behind the Sphinx are 5 rare chests, each corresponding to one of the riddles, and one legendary one that you will access at the end of this quest.
There is no right or wrong order to answer the riddles, but you shouldprepare by sleeping at an Inn prior to starting themjust in case you get one wrong and need to go back to an earlier save. If you have aPortcrystal, the Mountain Shrine is a great place to put it so you can easily return after resting at an Inn or between answering each of the riddles.
It is important to note that you can get one riddlewrong without failing this part of the quest. We highly recommendsaving the Riddle Of Rumination for lastas this will be the most commonly failed riddle.
You’ll unlock a Portcrystal after completing the Riddle of Madness. This riddle is easy to pass, so you can always do it first so that you can place a Portcrystal and head back to an Inn before starting the other riddles.
Riddle Of Eyes
For this first riddle, the Sphinx will open the door to the catacombs nearby and ask you to head inside andobtain the item of the highest value. There are quite a few goblins in here on the main floor, as well as an Ogre on the bottom floor. I definitely recommend taking the time to go through this whole area as there are some valuable resources to collect.
However,you’ll find the answer to the riddle right next to the entrance. After heading inside, turn around, and you’ll seea chest resting on a ledge above the entrance. Open the chest to find aSealing Phial. Once you are ready to complete the quest,return to the Sphinx and give them the Sealing Phial, not the rotten apple, to solve the riddle.

Riddle Of Madness
In this riddle, the Sphinx asks you tobring to her the one you love most. There are a few ways you can answer this particular question, but by far the easiest way is tobring her your main Pawn. Since they spend so much time with you adventuring, your relationship with them is deep enough to successfully answer the riddle.
to complete the Riddle Of Madness,pick up your main Pawn and carry them to the pedestal before the Sphinx. After placing them, speak to the Sphinx, select the Riddle Of Madness, and confirm this is who you love most to complete the riddle.

Riddle Of Wisdom
This is one of the harder riddles to solve at the Mountain Shrine. The Sphinx asks you tobring their parent so that they might better learn. You may think that this is some other mythical being, but it is in facta Capcom-created Pawn with the name Sphinx Mother or Sphinx Father.
To find the Pawn, you’ll need to access a Riftstone and search the full list of Pawns under the “Pawns in the Rift” section until you find one with that name. Once you do, summon them to your party and return to the Sphinx. As you did with your main Pawn, carry them up to the pedestal and speak to the Sphinx again to complete the riddle.

Riddle Of Conviction
“Life is an enigma,” so says the Sphinx. For this riddle, she’ll ask you tobring her your most prized possession. There is more than one way to answer this riddle, and possibly a way to get it wrong. You can technically give the Sphinx any item in your inventory. Although I did not directly witness her reject an item, I imagine she could if you chose one of low value like a flower.
Instead,try giving her something that would sell for at least 1000 gold. I chose to give her anAllheal potionwhich worked, allowing me to successfully answer the riddle. Afterward, the reward I received was an Allheal. I am unsure if it is a complete coincidence that the reward was the same as the item I gave her, or if she just gives you back whatever item you gave her. But I recommend you don’t choose anything you’re able to’t afford to not get back just in case.

Riddle Of Rumination
Before you start this riddle, make sure you go back to an Inn and save. Unlike the other riddles, this one is timed, so you want to make sure you may go back if needed. Once you begin the riddle,you will only have 7 days to complete it.
In this riddle, the Sphinx will ask you to recall where you found your first Seeker Token. Since there are 250 of them in the game, this may be nearly impossible to remember. If you do so happen to remember where you found your first one, likely somewhere around Borderwatch Outpost or Melve, then when you head back there you should find aFinder’s Token. Bring that back to the Sphinx to complete the riddle.
Riddle Of Rumination Reward
After completing all 5 riddles, the Sphinx will fly away to the Frontier Shrine and ask you to find them again. This begins the first riddle of the new shrine, the Riddle Of Reunion.

Frontier Shrine Sphinx Riddle Solutions
After flying off with the largest and most enticing-looking chest in the game, you’ll have to find the Sphinx again at the Frontier Shrine located just north of theBattahl border. You will actually need to go through Battahl to reach it.
Make your way through the northern part of Battahl, taking the path that keeps you closest to the Battahl northern border. After climbing the cliff face and wading through a couple of waterfalls, you’ll go through a short cave system. Once on the other side, you’ll have to navigate a very rainy, lush mountain, battling goblins and at least a Minotaur before you reach the path to the Frontier Shrine.
Once you arrive, you’ll see the Sphinx waiting for you with several new chests behind her.Just finding her again completes the Riddle of Reunion, which opens the far left chest containing 100,000 gold.
Unlike the Mountain Shrine,you cannot fail a single riddle here,or you will fail the whole quest. Theriddles are also given to you in a random order, so you won’t be able to hear them all and choose which ones to do first. Because of this, we recommend you do the following before speaking to the Sphinx:
Before you complete the final riddle at the Frontier Shrine, we highly recommend you be prepared to battle the Sphinx. Whether you successfully complete each riddle or not,the Sphinx will fly away at the end. You’ll need to attack them to trigger the battle and defeat them before they fly away in order to get the key to the large chest behind them.Check out our “How To Kill The Sphinx" section below before completing the final riddle.

As mentioned before, simply finding the Sphinx again will complete the first riddle. Go ahead and claim that prize!
Riddle Of Reunion Reward
The following riddles will be given to you in a random order. Please keep track of how many riddles you have successfully answered, both at the Mountain Shrine and the Frontier Shrine, as the Riddle Of Recollection will require you to answer with the correct number.
Riddle Of Contest
For the Riddle Of Contest, the Sphinx will ask you totest your mettleagainst a single Fighter Vocation enemy. She will also require that you wear the Ring of Derision during the fight, which pretty much makes all of your attacks do the least amount of damage possible. Your Pawns will not be able to help you fight this enemy, so make sure you are prepared with a Vocation you are comfortable with.
If you just steadily beat this enemy until their health bar is empty, you will actually fail the riddle. Instead,attack them until their guard breaksor they are knocked to the ground. Then quicklypick them up, run over to the edge of the shrine facing the cliffs, andthrow them to their death. This is the only correct answer to the Riddle Of Contest.
