Dragon’s Dogma 2is now available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and on PC via Steam and fans are loving Capcom’s latest title as it features a dangerous world with mystical creatures and showcases what a true next-gen RPG experience can be. Director Hideaki Itsuno spared no expense in designing their world, its threats and their locals, and how everyone is vulnerable to enemy attacks which can result in massive battles.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 received generally favorable reviews in its first few days.

The artificial intelligence that is featured in this game is unlike any other, which can surprise players who are used to the traditional NPC where they don’t react much to anything a player can do. Players can drag their fights as far and long as they want to, even in populated areas where NPCs will act more naturally like fighting back rather than standing still to meet their demise.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Features Impressive AI

A recent post on X from the official page of the game highlighted how the NPCs can defend themselves and fight back against threats that the Arisen can bring to their fine town. InDragon’s Dogma 2, there is no invisible barrier or wall that blocks certain characters from chasing the player.

“In Dragon’s Dogma 2, the world is seamless and there are few loading screens. Monsters can even follow you into towns and fight with residents and guards, resulting in unpredictable battles.”

This can be a useful strategy if players find themselves in the middle of a losing battle and could use nearby towns for a tactical retreat to use their forces to distract the hostile enemies and get enough time to come up with a plan of counterattack. Or players can just intentionally lure enemies and watch the locals get punished for their crimes for fun, either way, the NPCs are capable of handling enemies.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 took 5 years to develop but had the foundation 12 years ago as soon as the first game was complete and shipped.
