Quests inDragon’s Dogma 2are unlike what veterans of theRPGgenre are used to. Confusing at times and frustrating at others, these quests do not spoon-feed anything to anyone. Quest markers are rare, and even when they are there, it’s often unclear what, exactly, you need to do in order to progress.

The time has come, Arisen, to meet your destiny in Dragon’s Dogma 2!
One of these quests is the ‘Hunt for the Jadeite Orb’ quest, which players will automatically get the first time they walk intoCheckpoint Rest Town. It seems like two parties are looking for a lost Jadeite Orb. One is a beastren called Offulve who you will meet near the Oxcart and the other is Everard, a human merchant standing near the Scrap Store.

How To Get The Jadeite Orb
The Jadeite Orb can be bought from Ibhrahim’s Scrap Store for7500 Gold.But there are two buyers for the Orb and only one Orb. Luckily,you canduplicate the Orbby making a Forgery.
Conveniently, theScrap Storealso doubles as a Forgery Station, allowing you to make duplicates of items for a price. All you need to do istalk to Ibrahim, selectRequest a Forgeryoption from the shop menu, and hand over the Jadeite Orb you just bought to get a fake one on top of the real one. It’ll cost2000 Gold, but you’ll make that money back and more once everything is said and done.
Wait a few daysfor the forgery to be complete and come back to the shop to pick up the fake Orb.
Who Should You Give The Real Orb To?
The question now becomes,who should get the real Jadeite Orb, and who should get the fake one?Offulve and Everard both want the real Orb, and you’ll need to decide who you can dupe.
We’ve tested it both ways and one of them is vastly more shrewd than the other.Give the fake Orb to Offulveand thereal Orb to Everard.
This is because after you give the Orb to Everard (real or fake), he’ll immediately force you to verify the Orb’s authenticity by taking it to the Scrap Store to have it evaluated by Ibrahim. If you give him the fake one, this will aggro every guard in the vicinity, and you’ll either have to kill everyone or let them take you to jail. You’ll be sent to Vernworth Capital jail for the crime, and the quest will be marked as complete.
On the other hand,Offluve doesn’t verify the Orb’s authenticity, making him easy to dupe.
If you have the real Jadeite Orb in your inventory, you can technicallyset up a Pawn questfor other players to give you another ‘real’ one. I can’t confirm if this nets you two real Jadeite Orbs or not. I’ve put up a Pawn quest for it, but so far, there haven’t been any takers.
