To the south is the region of Battahl, a large desert that has just as much for players to see and do within. Checkpoint Rest Town will be the small town around the main gate that players won’t be able to cross just yet, but luckily, there are a couple of ways.

Progressing The Main Story

The first and more straightforward way of traveling to Battahl will bethrough the main story,which will eventually require players to head to the next region. In Vernworth, Captain Brant will give the players the first few main missions, with not all of them needing to be completed to get the passport to Battahl. The main quest,“Feast Of Deception,“will see the player attending the Sovran’s coronation, and completing this questwill end any other unfinished quest for Brantbutbegin “Journey To Battahl,” which will give players the Beastren Border Entry Permit.

With the Permit in hand, travel to Checkpoint Border Town through an oxcart in the western side of Vernworth or just walk there. Find the traderGeorg, usually near the entrance or well in the town,and buy a Beastren Mask from him for8,700 Goldif you’re character is human.Equip the mask and present the Permit to the guardat the gate to gain entry to Battahl.

Don’t throw the mask away; it will need to be equipped whenever the player wishes to pass through the gate in either direction.

The Mountain Path

For players not focusing on the main story and wanting to reach Battahl early, the mountain path can be taken at any time. At Checkpoint Rest Town, exit the city and make a right following the path downward. At the bottom of the path,turn right and head towards the river. Follow that river back towards and under the bridge to Checkpoint Rest Town.

This leads players to alinear path that can be taken to Battahl,but it’s important to note the difficulty of this path. The first monsters encountered will have stone skin and require magic damage, while there will also betwo Minotaurs and a Chimerato fight before reaching even the first campsite. Be sure to thoroughly stock on items andhealing suppliesbefore taking this path.

The Player Purchasing A Beastren Mask & Talking To The Guard

For those thinking about taking the mountain path, it is highly recommended toenhance your gearbeforehand. There will be one camping spot along the path, so be sure to have acamping kitin someone’s inventory.
