Bandai Namco and Marvelous announced the Japanese release date ofDoraemon Nobita no Bokujou Monogatari. The game launches exclusively on Switch on June 13. The game wasn’t announced in the west yet but will probably come over at some point, seeing the overall popularity of both franchises.
A new trailer explaining the game’s story and gameplay systems was also revealed. Basically, Doraemon, Nobita and their friends got transported to another world, in a place called Season Town. They decided to live there while trying to find a way to get back to their original world. And Nobita, controlled by the player, is taking care of a farm lent by a cheerful boy called Lunch. The game’s story is themed around family love.
In the game, all of the usual tools found inStory of Seasonsgames are replaced by Doraemon’s tools. The upgraded versions of the tools have been lost by Doraemon, so players will need to obtain them by completing various objectives, like becoming friendlier with the town’s inhabitants. Doraemon’s most famous tool, the “Anywhere Door” will also allow players to fast-travel between certain points in the world.
The game also has a fishing system, a house decoration system, an insects capture-and-collect system, festivals, and different animals and pets to raise. All the usual mechanics found inStory of Seasonsgames are there. The important story dialogues are voiced as well.
At the beginning of the game, players will pretty much only be able to do farm work, but more and more possibilities will unlock as you progress. The game also has items to make certain tasks less tiresome, like rare one-use items which make crops grow in a day.
