In its first week of availability, Capcom’sDevil May Cry 5has unsurprisingly immediately found its way to the top of the weekly UK sales chart for video games.
Devil May Cry 5beat out the rest of the pack in a week that was sparse with new releases. It seems that Capcom’s return to theDMCfranchise has paid early dividends, but it’ll be interesting to see how it performs in the long term.
Meanwhile on this week’s chart,Anthemdropped down to fourth aftercoming in at first over the past two weeks.Red Dead Redemption 2again found its way into the top five, this week coming in at second whileMario Kart 8 Deluxemade a resurgence and jumped all the way back into third this week.FIFA 19then rounded out this week’s top five.
As for other new releases last week, Square Enix’sLeft Alivehad a dismal debut and barely cracked the top 40 coming in at 39th overall. Clearly, word of the game’s poor qualityspread quickly. Also worth mentioning is that ofDead or Alive 6, which is nowhere to be found in the top 40 merely in its second week on the market.
