Weapon perks play an important role in deciding the God roll of a weapon. Each weapon perk functions differently and significantly changes how a weapon performs and how it should perform. Some weapon perks are only suitable for PvE, while some are only suitable for The Crucible.
6Deconstruct
Almost Zero Use Case
Salient Points
Deconstruct is a useless weapon perk with little to no play in PvE or PvP. It has a very limited use case, and it’s not worth the perk space it would occupy should you equp it. The perk’s description states:
Dealing sustained damage grants bonus damage against vehicles and constructs and partially refills the magazine. Damage with Primary ammo or against constructs provides additional progress.
![]()
Constructs include barricades, turrets,Stasis crystals, and other objects created in the field. Destroying Stasis Crystals is important but it can already be done with the help of Stasis Fragments. Refilling the magazine part of Deconstruct also has little to no usefulness as much better perks already exist.
5Beacon Rounds
Extremely Underwhelming
Beacon Rounds is a projectile weapon exclusive perk and can currently roll on only a single weapon, which is not even available in the game right now. Beacon Rounds states
Final blows with this weapon grant your projectiles tracking. Dealing further damage extends the duration.

Having extra tracking on your projectiles is always nice, but unfortunately, it is not worth using over other perk options that provide better stats or damage. Other than that, there are perk options like Tracking Module which passively adds on projectile tracking without the need to activate the perk every time through a condition.
4Permeability
Overshadowed By Osmosis
Permeability is only available on weapons that already have an elemental affinity, making it quite restrictive. This perk changes the weapon affinity of the selected weapon. According to the in-game description:
Using your class ability changes this weapon’s damage type to match your subclass until you stow the weapon.

Being able to change the elemental affinity of a weapon is a nice option, especially if you are focusing on building crafting, but the fact remains that instead of using this perk, you can just use a weapon that already has your required affinity. The perk is just taking up valuable real estate for no tangible benefit and it’s even overshadowed by Osmosis which changes your weapon’s damage type according to your grenade’s ability.
Mid-Tier Weapon
Slice is aStrand weaponexclusive perk and focuses on the subclass verb Sever. The perk isn’t the best out of the bunch, but at least it has some interesting effects. The perk states:
Casting your class ability allows this weapon to sever targets on hit for a brief duration, up to a maximum number of targets.

Sever is a Strand debuff that allows the target affected by it to deal 30 percent less damage. It is a nice subclass verb, especially in harder content when enemies are far more punishing, but in general content, Slice just does not have enough use cases. There are also better perk options that exist that can work far more effectively in harder content compared to Slice.
2Attrition Orbs
Best For Buildcrafting
Attrition Orbs is a perk that focuses on creating Orbs of Power. Having the ability to create an Orb of Power is very beneficial, considering the current sandbox and build crafting revolves around Armor Charges and Orbs of Power. The perk statement is as follows:
Dealing sustained damage creates an Orb of Power.
The Orbs generated by Attrition Orbs also synergize with Armor Mods that provide extra ability energy or health upon picking up an Orb of Power. Attrition is a great ability regeneration perk and can be used over other classic ability generation perks like Demolitionist and Wellspring.
1Onslaught
Deadliest Weapon Perk
Salient Features
Onslaught is an old weapon perk that was initially only available on Breakneck and used to synergize with the perk Rampage. However, with Breakneck returning in Season of the Wish, Onslaught has also returned this time not relying on the perk Rampage. Onslaught now states
Final blows with this weapon increase its rate of fire.
This perk is incredible in both PvE and PvP, as in PvP it decreases the time needed to kill with any weapon and in PvE, it increases the damage potential significantly. The high damage potential it grants as well as its synergistic. nature makes it the best perk to come out this season.
