Zack Snyder, the veteran director known for directingZack Snyder’s Justice Leagueand several other DC movies, depicted Darkseid in his 2021 movie. Being shown as an unstoppable terror who destroys everything in his path, Darkseid is indeed quite a terrifying character.
Well, although he is a tyrant in his universe, Darkseid once fought Marvel’s one of the most terrifying villains in a crossover event in the comics. Sadly, the DC villain was defeated quite humiliatingly as the match seemed very unfair!
When Darkseid Was Defeated By Galactus!
In a crossover event in the comic books, Galactus and Darkseid were once part of the same universe. As per the canon, neither of their universes were merged or breached. Rather, Silver Surfer (the herald of Galactus) came to Apokolips to scout the planet out for his master.
Calling in Galactus, the titan finds Darkseid’s planet and the two engage in a battle that is quite destructive and gigantic in scale. Although Darkseid is a terrifying soul in himself, he gives everything he has in hopes of defeating Galactus (including hitting Galactus with his Omega Beam). After getting tired, Darkseid sees that his powers had no effect on Galactus and the giant was busy destroying his planet.

Well, turns out that Galactus likes only planets that harbor life. Although Darkseid’s Apokolips may have once flourished with life, Galactus sees that Darkseid’s way of things had left the world barren and without life. Disappointed, the giant simply turns around and leaves Galactus to his misery by defeating him humiliatingly in battle.

The character of Darkseid was portrayed by actor Ray Porter in the 2021 filmZack Snyder’s Justice League.Portraying the iconic character, fans actually loved him as Darkseid but after Snyder was snubbed from the DCEU, the actor was also not approached for the role again.

With a rating of 7.9/10 on IMDB and an average of 72% on Rotten Tomatoes, the 2021 film is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
