It’s rare to see a game such asDeadlockthat bridges the gap betweenMOBAand Shooters. The combination of the strategic aspect of MOBAs with the mechanical skill requirements of shooters has resulted in a game that has the potential to become one of themost popular multiplayer games.
10 Best MOBAs Of All Time, Ranked
MOBAs have been dominating competitive online play for decades. This list breaks down the best MOBAs since the genre’s inception.
But, like all competitive multiplayer titles, performance is the main priority if you want to succeed in the game. The last thing you want is low FPS limiting you.

So, if it’s your first time launching the game, consider trying these settings for the best performance possible.
Although these settings are configured to produce the best performance possible, it is important to note that Deadlock is still very early in development andrequires an invitation to play.Hence, bugs, glitches, and crashes are imminent.

Deadlock Best Options Settings
The Options tab is divided into two categories: Game and Reticle (Crosshair) Settings. From a framerate standpoint, both of these settings have absolutely no impact.
But if you take the competitive aspect into account, it’s a different story. These sections include sensitivity and crosshair, which are the most important settings to configure in a shooter.

This becomes even more importantif you are just starting out in Deadlock. here’s the settings I would personally suggest for newbies:
Game Settings
Recommended
Description
Invert Mouse
Turning it on flips your mouse movement. If you move the mouse up, the crosshair will move down, and vice versa.
Toggle Zoom
Personal Preference
Control whether you want to hold the Right Mouse Button to aim, or press it to aim in and then press it again to get out of aim down sights.
Sensitivity
As the name suggests, controls your mouse sensitivity. Find a sensitivity that works for you and stick to it.
Zoom Sensitivity Ratio
Control your sensitivity when you are aiming down sights. Ideally, you should keep this at 1 to keep your mouse and zoom sensitivities consistent. However, feel free to change this to your liking.
If you have played other shooters, like CS2 or VALORANT, for example, consider using a sensitivity converter to port your sensitivity from other games to Deadlock. This will ensure you will be playing with a sensitivity you are already familiar with.

Reticle Settings
The default crosshairDeadlockoffers is far from optimal. It’s huge, distracting, and not good for accuracy overall. For this reason, it is recommended that you tweak the settings to provide a crosshair that works for you. Go for something that is easily visible but not too distracting.
If you have never made a crosshair before, you can try the following crosshair. It’s not perfect by any means, but is a good starting point and much better than the default.

Crosshair Gap
Crosshair Width
Crosshair Height
Pip Opacity
Show Pip Border
Dot Opacity
Dot Outline Opacity
Red 120, Green 255, Blue 255
Try picking a color that will stand out against the map’s environment. Good options includeCyan, Green, and Yellow.

Deadlock Best Video Settings
While the previous section mostly covered settings that impactgameplay rather than fps,Video Settings are where you can truly maximizeperformance.
Similar to the Options Tab, the Video Tab is divided into subsections:Resolution, Option, and Rendering.
Here are the settings I would recommend for each of the video settings tabs:
Resolution
The resolution section is pretty straightforward. You have only two options:Use Native Resolution or Custom Resolution. The first one makes the game run on your monitor’s native resolution. For instance, if your monitor has a native resolution of 1920x1080, the game will run on that.
The latter allows you to choose your aspect ratio and resolution. This can be handy if you want to play on a stretched resolution or any resolution for that matter.
Native Resolution makes the game run on Borderless Windowed Fullscreen. It doesn’t introduce any input lag, but it’s worth mentioning.
Rendering Mode
Low Latency
On, if given the option
Full-Screen Focus Behavior
Reduce Flashing Effect
For the Rendering section, there are two ways to go about it.
Upscaling Technology
Stretch 100%, FSR 100%, FSR 2.0 Balanced (Decrease it to Performance or Ultra Performance if you are still getting bad frames)
Screen Space AO
Distance Field AO
Motion Blur
Texture Quality
Distance Field Shadows
Displacement Mapping
Post Process Bloom
Effect Bloom
Area Lights
Depth of Field
These settings are configured to give you the best framerates, prioritizing performance over visual fidelity.

Deadlock Best Audio Settings
Not all headphones sound the same, so the audio settings will differ from person to person.Just set it at a level that’s comfortable for your ears, and you can easily hear footsteps and other audio cues.
Similarly, also figure out your Voice Chat volume. The goal is to hear your teammates clearly but also prevent loud teammates from screaming into your ears.
This also applies to you, so set your microphone volume at a suitable level. In the settings, you can listen to your mic.
Tips To Improve FPS In Deadlock
Optimizing the game settings is a sure-fire way of improving FPS, but there arethings you can do outside the game to squeeze out every last bit of performance from your system. For example,
In short, prioritizing framerates is important in any competitive title, andDeadlockis no exception. Sure, the game is still in development, and stability might not be the best.
But,Deadlock does have the potential to become big, especially in a time whenlive service games flopmore frequently than a fish out of water.
