If you want to get an edge over the enemy team inDeadlock, the best thing you can do is work tirelessly to rack up more souls than them.
This ensures you get to upgrade your heroes first, making them stronger than the enemy heroes. As a result, your team wins more duels and ultimately destroys the enemy Patron.

Deadlock: Best Settings & How To Improve FPS
Deadlock might not be the most stable game right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t optimize it to get high fps.
In short, the more souls you have than enemies, the better your chances of winning. So, here are the best ways to farm souls inDeadlockand get an early lead on the opponent’s team.

1Farming Troopers
When in doubt, kill Troopers
Let’s get the obvious one out of the way. Troopers are the most basic yet efficient way of farming souls. Much like anyMOBA game, Troopers are the minions of Deadlock. They spawn every 30 seconds and attack anything in front of them.
Troopers are quite weak, which is why they are one of the best ways to get souls. In the early game, the Troopers drop seventy-five souls. This number progressively increases as the game goes on.

At the start of the game, the souls you get from Troopers are divided evenly. You get the first half of killing the trooper, and the second half ascends to the sky as a soul orb.
You must shoot the orb to claim the other half, or the enemy might steal it. If nobody shoots the orb, the soul number is granted to the player who killed the Trooper.
At the 10-minute mark, you no longer get any souls from killing the trooper. Instead, all the soul reward is stored in the soul orb.
Try to prioritize melee kills. It not only kills the trooper but also breaks the soul orb, ensuring you get the entire soul amount.

2Smashing Crates And Gold Idols
Crack ‘em Open
Apart from the continuous Trooper farming, the other thing you’re able to do to get a soul advantage over the enemy is keep an eye out for Crates and Gold Idols.
They spawn all across the map. You need to break them to get souls and other buffs.Remember that crates only give souls, whereas Gold Idols can grant you buffs like more health, cooldown reduction, and much more.
If you can’t find crates, look for small blue, yellow, and brown boxes on the map. The color represents the elevation. Blue means high elevation points, places like rooftops, etc.
Yellow means the ground level or rooms, whereas Brown indicates underground crates.
Memorize the spawn locations of crates, as they don’t change. This will ensure easy souls early on in the game.
3Clearing Out Jungle Camps
Go Monster Hunting
You will find groups of three or more one-eyed monsters throughout the map. These are called Creepers inDeadlock, and you may get souls by killing them.
These Creepers spawn in camps called Jungle Camps. There are three tiers of Jungle Camps. The higher the tier, the stronger the monsters and the more souls they reward.

Cyan Triangle

Tier 1 camps spawn at 2 minutes into the game, whereas Tier 2 and 3 spawn in around 7 minutes.
However, I advise you to avoid Tier 3 camps until 15 or 20 minutes into the game, as they are quite difficult to clear.
Generally speaking, avoid taking on Tier 3 Creeper Campsif you are a beginner in Deadlock.
Tier 2 is the best out of all tiers, simply because of the number of camps and the moderate difficulty.
4Slots Machines
Try Your Luck
Another quick way to grab some souls is the slot machines spread across the map. They are quite easy to spot. Usually, you’ll find them indoors.
Slot Machines give you souls when you melee them. This works with ten normal or five charged melee attacks. After that, the machine breaks, giving you the final soul reward.
These slot machines are spread all across the map, and can be quick soul grabs while you are retreating or repositioning.
5Killing Heroes
I Am The Danger
Killing heroes is always a surefire way to get souls. Plus, if the enemy has any unsecured souls from creepers, you will get those as well. However, this isn’t a walk in the park.
Deadlock is more MOBA thanhero shooter, meaning heroes get stronger and harder to defeat as the game progresses.
This option could be viable if you picked aDPS heroand useditemsto make him better in duels.
Generally speaking, the best option is to attack an enemy hero with your teammate. This ensures that you have the advantage over the enemy hero, making the duel much easier than a 1v1.
Although it is not the easiest way to get souls, it is still worth trying if you have good dueling skills.
Don’t go for hero kills in the early stage of the match. At that time, your goal should be to solely farm troopers and poke the other enemies with chip damage. This works better in the later stages of the game when your hero is a bit more powerful.
6Completing Soul Urn Objectives
Pick and Drop
After 10 minutes in the game, a Soul Urn will spawn at the center of the map. It’s a mini-objective that can get you tons of souls if you manage to complete it.
You only need to get the Soul Urn and take it to the Soul Altar on the map. It’s exactly opposite to the Soul Urn spawn, the location is also marked on the map with a square.
Completing this objective gives an equal number of souls to all teammates. The player that completes the objective gets 25% more and an ability point.
Carrying the Soul Urn will not allow you to use your weapons or abilities. Make sure to communicate with your team so they can cover you.
If you missed the Soul Urn Objective, no need to worry as it respawns every 5 minutes after the first spawn.
7Defeating The Mid-Boss
Challenging to say the least
At the 10-minute mark in the game, a Mid-Boss will spawn. All the players will be alerted to this by an announcement.Defeating the Mid-Boss is a crucial part of the game as it grants a useful buff and, of course, a lot of souls.
However, defeating the Mid-Boss is no walk in the park. It has a shield that you have to break first to start attacking the massive health. This is not a one-man job, so make sure to take your teammates with you.
Once you kill the Mid-Boss, it will release a lot of Soul Orbs, and make sure to destroy them to guarantee the soul reward.
Along with these, the boss will also drop an item that you need to melee to get the Rejuvenator Buff. This is a handy buff and can change the tide of the battle. Here is what it does.
15 Best Competitive Multiplayer Games
Competitive multiplayer games are some of the biggest games around. Here are some of the best of the best.
8Clearing Enemy Objectives
Push the lanes
To win the game, you need to destroy the enemy Patron. On the journey to the enemy Patron, you will encounter mini-bosses.
These are enemy objectives. You need to defeat these mini-bosses to advance in a lane. If you don’t know what they are, here is a quick refresher.
Objectives
Description
The first line of defense. Guardians are stationed at the start of each lane.
They lie deeper in the lane. Walkers are much stronger than guardians and deal a lot of damage.
Elder Guardians
Elder Guardians are the enemy’s last line of defense. These are stronger and more damaging variants of the normal Guardians.
Not technically bosses but structures. You need to defeat them to expose the Patron.
Of course, as you advance and defeat enemy objectives, you will rack on souls and ability points. Defeating Guardians, Walkers, Elder Guardians, and Shrines grants you a lot of souls.
So, while the other ways are good to gather souls and maintain a soul-lead, the enemy objectives should be your main priority. Not only to win games but also to gather souls.
