The Defenders side of things in the MCU over on Netflix might find itself to be canon withDaredevil: Born Again, and this opens up opportunities for a slew of other characters to make an appearance in the show.

While characters like Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage could make surprise appearances in the show, there is a slew of other characters that could crossover into Daredevil’s storyline, which is slated to include The Punisher, White Tiger, and Wilson Fisk already.
Daredevil: Born Againis going to take a different root from the comics
Born Againis the name of a Daredevil comic book run that was largely celebrated for its gritty and cerebral storytelling. Speculations have run wild with regard to how much of that story is going to play into the narrative of the show, butVincent D’Onofriohas come out with some details of the story. He said (via EW):
Anything on our show is, nine out of 10 times, leading to something that’s even bigger and crazier. For Fisk, this journey is a path to more control.

While the story might be a little different, there is one character that Marvel Studios should bring back from the Netflix era of these shows, and that would be David Tenant’s Purple Man. With the character’s focus on pheromone control, Dardevil’s powers would be turned against him, and his will would be tested as The Purple Man controls him for his own nefarious reasons. The Purple Man cold serve has a henchman for Fisk or keeps Matt busy while Fisk is working on some unrelated plan.
Daredevil: Born Againmight be Marvel’s last hope in 2025 to win back mainstream audiences
Daredevil: Born Againis one of Marvel’s few offerings in 2025 that could entice the general audience back into the MCU. While there are some pretty expensive films likeCaptain America: Brave New WorldandThe Fantastic Four: First Steps, it is unlikely that these films will have a great time getting the mainstream audience into theatres.

While these films are bound to work for comic book fans, the mainstream audience might not be interested in anything that is not Daredevil, given that anticipation around the show, and the fact that it is Marvel’s only release in 2025 surrounding a character that has led a project by himself in recent memory.
