After nearly four years, all of a sudden,Crysismade an appearance on Twitter yesterdaywith a mysterious tweet hinting at a new upcoming title from the series. The tweet has already been liked by over 80,000 users, which is 8 times more than the number of the account’s followers. Today, the people at Crytek teased another part of their project by tweeting the opening dialogue of the first game in theCrysisseries: “Hey Nomad, you’re still with us?“A new tweet fromCrysis’s official Twitter account has come about and it is a quote fromwhat Prophet says to Nomad in the initial airplane scene ofCrysis. With this in mind, it might be safe to assume that a reboot or remaster of the first game could be what is being teased.

Electronic Arts has already revealed during its latest earnings call that a bunch of remasters will be rolled out in the next two years from some famous franchises, and it wouldn’t be surprising ifCrysisis going to be one of them. The game was originally launched back in 2007 for PC, and the console versions arrived four years later. Featuring stunningly beautiful visuals,Crysiswas arguably one of the best-looking games in history at the time. As an iconic feature of the franchise, the follow-ups to the original story also delivered spectacular graphics on last-gen platforms.

However, withHunt: Showdownleaving the early access phase last year, Crytek seems to have enough time to work on a new big project instead of remastering a last-gen title. Although EA isn’t a kind of publisher who places an emphasis on single-player games, the successful launch ofStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Ordermight be a positive signal for them to invest more in story-driven games in the future. That said, the latest installment of theCrysisseriesalso featured a multiplayer section, though it wasn’t as popular as its campaign mode.
