At the age of 10, Angus T. Jones received a break that most actors are left dreaming of through their entire careers. Playing the role of Jake Harper in Chuck Lorre’sTwo and a Half Men,Jones eventually amassed a net worth of $20 million and became one of the most successful child actors in the industry.

However, despite the early success and the longstanding role, Jones eventually became less frequent onTwo and a Half Men.He enjoyed a guest role in Seasons 11 and 12, before leaving the show altogether. That was of course, after the dramatic exit Charlie Sheen underwent in Season 9.
However, Jones’ decision to leaveTwo and a Half Menhad nothing to do with Sheen. Instead, it was down to his newfound faith which meant that he had become a ‘god-fearing person.’

Angus T. Jones leftTwo and a Half Menafter becoming religious
There are obvious reasons why his role inTwo and a Half Menwould have been an utterly precious breakthrough for any other child actor. After all, the show gave him the opportunity to work with some obvious legends in the form of Chuck Lorre, Charlie Sheen, Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer.
And while Angus T. Jones’ time as Jake Harper made him a recognizable face as well, things changed when he found faith. The actor was a major character for all of the initial seasons, but eventually became more of a guest star, which was especially true after Sheen himself left in Season 9.

However, Jones’ eventual exit was down to the following, as he himself explained in an interview (viaThe Things):
You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that.

The actor not only did not want to be a part ofTwo and a Half Menanymore, he also further encouraged viewers to stop watching the superhit show, claiming that it was “filling their heads with filth.”

Chuck Lorre’sshow was no stranger to bidding farewell to its major stars. After all, in Charlie Sheen, they had arguably the biggest TV star at the time, who was eventually written off. Further, while Angus T. Jones also had plenty of experience and was an integral part of theTwo and a Half Men,his interview meant that his time int he Chuck Lorre production was running out.
Jones was also a part of movies such asSee Spot Run, George of the Jungle 2,and 2003’sSimpatico.His time onTwo and a Half Menwas well-rewarded, as he earned $350k per episode and had accrued a $20 million net worth via his portrayal of Jake Harper.

However, his newfound faith and the criticism he levied against the show meant that just like Charlie Sheen, he was also eventually completely written off. This was followed by a lengthy ‘retirement’ which came to an end after Jones returned for an episode of Chuck Lorre’sBookie.
Interestingly, his appearance came alongside Charlie Sheen, as the two reprised a poker scene fromTwo and a Half Men.(The Things)
