One of the biggest traits of Makima’s personality is that she is the greatest manipulator who loves to control others. She would use any means necessary to make people follow her and achieve her goals, even if it costs others' or her own life. Secondly, she considers too much of herself and sees others around her as nothing more than dogs.

Her manipulative nature can easily be found in Haruko from FLCL, who is considered extremely cunning, manipulative, and hard to read. Makima’s nature to consider others inferior was inspired by Benten from The Eccentric Family, who can mostly be seen with high-ranking people as she considers most people lowly to her.
