Chainsaw Man Episode 9 Recap
The Ghost Devil is consumed by the Snake Devil, and only its hand is left.HimenopulledDenji’scord using the Ghost Devil’s hand before she and the Devil disappeared. Denji is turned into Chainsaw Man, and an intense battle between him and the Katana Man starts. Two men arrive to help Katana Man, and they start shooting Denji. He takes one of the men as a hostage and tells Katana Man to surrender. Katana Man gets down on his knees, and at first, it seems like he is surrendering, but then he uses his special move to cut Denji and his own man in half.
Kurose and Tendo are waiting at the Kyoto station, and they are surprised to seeMakimaalive, who was shot dead by some assailants. She asks them to gather a few prisoners at a temple situated at a high altitude. While a few men are moving Denji’s body into a van, Makima starts using her power. She makes one prisoner at a time recite the name of the gang member, then makes a special sign with her hand, which explodes them one by one. Akane understands that Makima is alive and she is the one behind the explosions.

Akane and Katana Man are about to take Denji with them, but they are confronted by Kobeni. Akane summons the Snake Devil, but Kobeni dodges all its attacks and starts fighting them. They are forced to leave without taking Denji’s body. Kobeni starts crying about Arai’s death and how she wanted to kill Denji, for which she apologizes. The scene then cuts to Madoka, who tells Makima that Divisions 1 and 3 will be joining Division 4. He then tells her about his decision to resign and asks her about the recent attacks. Makima denies answering his questions as he is no longer a member of the Devil Hunter organization, and Makima leaves with Kurose and Tendo.
