WhileCall of Duty: Black Ops 6has redefined the wheel in many ways when it comes to gameplay, the game also has plenty of returning features.
One of the features that fans know is the weapon level XP system. This allows players to gain separate XP on every weapon in the game and unlock attachments and camos in the process.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6: All Perks In Zombies, Ranked
Augments have changed the game, so you might be using different perks this time around.
InBlack Ops 6, most weapons have upwards of 30 levels. Every subsequent level requires more and more XP to reach, meaning you have to put in a ton of work with a single weapon to reach its maximum level.

While the grind is there regardless, there are ways to increase your XP rates to level weapons faster inBlack Ops 6. You can see how to do that in the guide below.
How Weapon Levels Work inBlack Ops 6
Before we get into how to earn weapon XP faster, it’s important to fully understand the weapon level system inBlack Ops 6. As previously mentioned, every weapon has a certain number of weapon levels that you can earn before reaching its maximum level.
At every weapon level, you’ll unlock a new attachment for the weapon (unless you’re using a melee weapon or launcher). Starting out in the early levels, you’ll progress through with a minimal amount of weapon XP.

However, as you start to reach higher levels, the process will slow down tremendously and weapon levels are harder to come by.
The amount of time it takes to fully level a weapon inBlack Ops 6depends on how many levels it has. Weapon classes like assault rifles and submachine guns have more levels per weapon than smaller classes, such as pistols and shotguns.

For example, theAMES 85 assault riflehas 46 weapon levels, while the9mm PM pistolonly has 30. Naturally, it takes longer to max out the higher-level weapons, but every weapon still needs a large amount of XP.
Most weapons in Black Ops 6 feature a different max level, so the grind for each one will be different, but long nonetheless.

How to Earn More Weapon XP in Black Ops 6
Now it’s time to get into the different methods you can use to efficiently and quickly level up your weapons inBlack Ops 6. These methods work for all players, regardless of level or skill, but some offer faster XP than others. You can see all of them listed below.
Play objective-based game modes
Game modes such as Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint allow you to earn more score than other modes, like Team Deathmatch or Search and Destroy. The more score you earn while using a weapon, the more XP you earn for it.
Kill Confirmed is the best mode for raw XP, as picking up tags is painless and easy. If you’re able to manage to pick up 20-30 tags per game, you can almost double the normal amount of XP you would have received.
Hardpoint and Domination also work for getting more XP, but you have to constantly play the objective in those modes.
Use UAVs and Counter UAVs
Building off the last point, you want as much score as possible when playingBlack Ops 6. By using the UAV and Counter UAV scorestreaks, you earn score every time a team member gets a kill with either streak active.
Of course, in addition to earning that passive score, you’ll also make it easier for yourself to find enemies.
The UAV sweeps the mini-map for enemies that aren’t wearing Ghost, making their location known, while the Counter UAV cuts off the enemy team’s awareness by disabling their mini-map.
Go for headshots
It sounds simple, but getting more headshots with a weapon earns you additional XP. While each headshot might not be much on its own, earning around 10 per game starts to add up over time.
Aiming for the head takes practice, but as long as you’reusing the right settingsand thecorrect loadout for a weapon, you’ll be able to get the hang of it in no time.
Going for headshots also progresses your weapon camo grind, as most weapons inBlack Ops 6need 100 headshots to get through the base camos. This can help you eventually reach any of the Mastery Camos, including Gold and Dark Matter.
Play until Round 30 in Zombies
And that wraps up our weapon XP methods inBlack Ops 6. If you’re wondering about one last method, Decoy Grenades, you don’t have to equip those anymore.
Decoy Grenades no longer give you any weapon XP. While this was the case at one point, the developers at Treyarch nerfed this ability, so the method no longer works.
With Decoy Grenades nerfed, the four methods we’ve listed above are the best ways to earn weapon XP faster in Black Ops 6. If you follow all of them, you’ll easily rack up several weapon levels every match.
