EA’s legendary military franchiseBattlefieldis set to make a return soon. Dating back to 2002, the series has long been a mainstay when it comes to multiplayer shooters, rivaling the likes ofCall of Duty,Medal of HonorandDelta Forceover the decades.
While Battlefield 6 has been rumored for a long while, and closed-beta testing has been ongoing for several months, it was recently confirmed thatan open beta will be made availableto players, presumably in the near future.

Battlefield Labs Leak Allegedly Shows Every Battlefield 6 Gadget
Expect familiar gadgets from BF2042 to be present.
Today, on the official Battlefield X account, a link was posted along with the announcement of a new reveal trailer scheduled for July 24th.
While details remain understandably scarce for now, we can see from the official artwork posted along with the trailer link that the game will featuremodern or near-future weaponry, and will take place, at least in part, on US home soil.

Changing The Narrative?
Since the premiere for the trailer is not set to drop for another two days, we can only speculate on what Battlefield 6’s content might include. From the short 10-second GIF posted on X, we can clearly see New York City’s Brooklyn Bridge being blown up, as well asdowntown Manhattan in the distance.
Warships enter the Hudson and fighter jets pass overhead in a scene reminiscent of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Battle of New York. The soldiers in the foreground appear kitted out with realistic modern weaponry, rather than anything overtly futuristic as was the case inBattlefield 2042.
An earlier leak from Battlefield Labs had also shown a campaign mission featuring players sabotaging a dam in Tajikistan.
After the widespread criticism of 2042, it would make sense for the franchise to return to what it was known for - delivering intense,fast-paced modern combatwhich was both tactical and accessible for new players.
So far, not much is known regarding a release window for Battlefield 6, but all is likely to be confirmed on the 24th when the trailer drops.Fans have expressed a mixture of excitement and apprehensionin the video’s comment section, with one user stating: “Please, Dice! Bring this legendary franchise back to the top,” while another said, “Please don’t let us down again.”.
The four-year gap between Battlefield 6 and its predecessor, 2042, is the longest in the franchise’s history, so perhaps DICE is looking to make dramatic changes in order torecover its reputation.
Battlefield 6 May Be Trying To Be A Battle Royale Again
Battlefield Labs has allegedly added files and materials hinting at the addition of a battle royale mode.
