One of the most impactful choices you’ll make in your playthrough is customizing your character by choosing yourclass, subclass, ability pointspread, and things of that nature. Although these choices seem locked in stone at first glance, they are anything but. As you progress through the game, you’ll encounter an undead NPC, Withers, who will be able to help you respec your character. For a price, of course.
Where To Find Withers
Withers is located in theDank Crypt, an area you’ll find very early on in the game. After you escape the Illithid Ship at the start of the game, you’ll find yourself stranded on a beach.Directly north of where you land, you’ll see the Ancient Temple visible on the map.
How To Respec Using Withers
After you’ve interacted with Withers for the first time, exit the area andset up camp. You’ll find Withers as an interactable NPC inside your camp. Talk to Withers, and he will give you the option torespec your character for 100 Gold.
Click on this option, and you’ll be able to respec. This will allow you to rebuild your character bychoosing any class, subclass, feat, and stat spreadyou want. While 100 Gold might seem daunting at first, it is a small price to pay for essentially getting a full redo of your every choice so far.

Youcannotchange your character’s appearance, race, orbackground. You can only make these changes during the initial character creation.
