Druidic Wild Shapes have never looked as good as they do inBaldur’s Gate 3. The ability to shapeshift, combined with all the well-crafted animations, make Wild Shape not only very effective but interesting to watch as well. Unlike many abilities that make you pick from a list, a Druid has access to all of their unlocked Wild Shapes at any time.

Baldur’s Gate 3: 15 Best Items For Druids

Druids could have a decent time playing without any equipment, but having some of the best items will make you unstoppable.

With how Wild Shaping works, Druids have access to a multitude of abilities based on the forms available. Since all your shape-shifting charges come back with short rests, there’s no reason not to use these forms as much as possible. Some are great for combat, while others excel at navigation. Here are the forms that rise above the others.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Druid Item Feature

Disruptive Early-Game Bully

The Badger is one of the first forms a Druid learns when they unlock the ability to Wild Shape. It’s not the strongest, the fastest, or toughest of the early forms, but what it can do is push your enemies around with the power of its claws.

Gravity deals more damage than any of the Badger’s attacks, and the Claw action has a chance to push any target it hits. It can also use Burrow to emerge suddenly beside enemies and knock them prone. You can use that to disrupt the concentration of casters. Early-game goblins tend to cast Bless a lot, and the Badger is uniquely suited to disrupt them.

Tiniest Explorer

As you play through Baldur’s Gate 3, you will find small holes all over the world. Most characters can’t interact with them, saying the gap is far too small to allow them through. Those holes are for the Cat wild Shape.

Cat form makes you a tiny creature, easily able to slip through the small gaps and access areas locked behind doors and walls. Its combat abilities are negligible; it’s not meant to fight. But it can use its Meow ability to distract enemies and pull them from their set path. You can use that to have yourRogue assassinateisolated enemies one by one.

9Dire Raven

Sight-Rending Flier

The Dire Raven form is granted to level four Druids with the Circle of the Moon subclass. As an ability, it grants the earliest consistent access to flight in the game. Flight is the best method of travel in Baldur’s Gate 3, letting you reach high places out of your reach, and low places without breaking your legs.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Every Druid Subclass, Ranked

If you’re having trouble choosing a Druid subclass in Baldur’s Gate 3, this list can help you narrow it down.

The Dire Raven invalidates jumping puzzles. With this form, there is virtually nowhere you can’t go. For exploration, Dire Raven is top tier.

In combat, however, the Dire Raven falls short. This form is one of the few that doesn’t increase its health as you level up, and its stats don’t offer much help for accuracy. If you do need to fight in this form, the Dire Raven can use Rend Vision to blind enemies it attacks, which is a great setup for the rest of your party.

8Saber-Toothed Tiger

Tireless Shredder

The Saber-Toothed Tiger falls victim to an earlier unlock doing what it wants better than it can. The Saber Tooth shares a lot of similarities with the Panther form unlocked two levels prior, but has some key differences to alter its focus.

The Saber-Tooth excels as a brawler. No other Wild Shape form has access to regeneration, making the Saber-Tooth one of the forms that can endure the most punishment. It has a strong bite and can Shred an enemy’s armor to make it easier for all of your party to hit them. If an enemy is prone, you can use Jugular Strike for extra Damage, but the Saber-Tooth has no way to knock enemies prone by itself.

Taunting Tank

The Bear is the first Combat Wild Shape given by the Circle of the Moon subclass at level two. Until you reach level six, the Bear will have the most hit points of all your Wild Shape forms. After level six, the Bear still offers a unique skill to keep itself relevant.

A bear can use its action to make a Goading Roar. All enemies in a 9-meter radius have to pass a wisdom saving throw or gain disadvantage on attacks against anything but the Bear. Since enemies like to target whoever they have the best chance to hit, most will attack the distraction Bear. The Bear’s attacks only do moderate damage, but if you’re picking the Bear form It’s because you need someone to be the focus of your enemy’s attention.

6Dilophosaurus

Corrosive Spitting Dinosaur

In Baldur’s Gate 3, you may be a Dinosaur. That’s awesome! The Dilophosaurus Wild Shape is the only one that can do non-physical damage unless you take the Circle of the Moon subclass. It has the strongest bite of any Wild Shape and adds a little acid damage with each attack.

Not only does the Dilophosaurus have a ranged attack, but it’s a long-ranged attack as well. It can spit acid on enemies 20 meters away, apply a damage over time condition, and reduce that enemy’s Armor Class by one per turn to a maximum of negative five.

The Dino is straightforward, and everything it does is effective. It’s a great form if you want to deal damage. If your enemy is immune to acid damage, however, you might want to choose a different form.

Party’s Best Friend

The Wolf Wild Shape is one that levels up very well. It has decent health, above-average speed, and one of the best support abilities in the game - the Wolf can guarantee critical hits.

With Exposing Bite, the Wolf can distract an enemy and inflict the Exposing Bite condition. While an enemy has this condition, the next attack with one-and-a-half meters will be a critical. Pair a Wolf shaped Druid with a Paladin and see what happens.

The Wolf’s great abilities don’t stop there. With Inciting Howl, they can grant all allies extra movement for a turn. In addition, Pack Tactics grants you advantage on your attacks so long as you have a threatening ally near your target.

Prowling Ambush Predator

Combining mobility and power, the Panther Wild Shape is consistently a strong choice for combat and exploration. The Panther can use Prowl to turn invisible at will. While invisible, you can skulk into enemy lines and scout out where all your foes are, then gain a surprise round by striking from stealth.

Baldur’s Gate 3: 10 Best Druid Spells

Druids need to pick and choose which spells deserve a spot on their spell list. Here is a list of the best Spell Druids to get access to in BG3.

In combat, the Panther can jump from target to target, dealing high damage and knocking enemies prone as it goes. Pounce and Jugular Strike give you an easy one-two combo for extra damage. Your health pool is a bit on the lower side of Wild Shapes, but you have the means to avoid damage through Prowl.

3Elemental Myrmidon

Four Forces Of Nature’s Wrath

Elementals are powerfulcreatures made entirely from either fire, earth, water, or air. There are four to choose from, each with single target and area attacks. Every single one of them gets access to a bonus action teleport, granting massive mobility.

There are four variants, and you should examine your enemies to pick the best one to fight them. The only thing to hold these forms back is their cost. Unlike other forms, you need to expend two wildshape charges to assume an Elemental form.

The Air Myrmidon deals lightning damage and can stun and silence. The Earth Myrmidon is the sturdiest and deals thunder damage. The Water variant chills enemies, creates icy surfaces, and can heal. The Fire elemental burns enemies with both attacks and reactions and can use Haste.
