According to the latest video fromUnforgotten Gameson YouTube, Turtle Rock developers have cultivated a co-op title calledInvaders, before shifting intoBack 4 Bloodand after launchingEvolve, but the game has seemingly been buried somewhere in the studio’s history before reaching a release status.
Turtle Rock is mostly known for itsLeft 4 Deadseries that features an exceptional co-op experience which makes many gamers fall in love with that for a long time. That being said, the studio’s next title,Evolve, failed to achieve the same amount of success among theLeft 4 Deadfans. Since launchingEvolve, the studio has apparently tried different ideas until they’ve crafted the concepts forBack 4 Blood, their upcoming title.
One of the canceled projects at Turtle Rock was a post-apocalyptic co-op title set in the UK after an alien invasion. The game, which was apparently called Invaders, featured a gameplay system similar toLeft 4 Deadseries, but this time around, in a more horrifying setting with creepy enemies.
The video above showcases some concept arts forInvaders' characters and enemies. The leaks also reveal a destruction system in the game, allowing some giant enemies to destroy buildings and player camps. You can even take a look at the game’s final boss fight, which is more like a sky-high spider.
Invaderswas set to be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but the game never reached the end of its development process. The interesting part is that Turtle Rock has worked on another canceled project as well, probably sometime after leaving Invaders unfinished.
The studioofficially confirmedthat they have started working onBack 4 Bloodas aspiritual successor toLeft 4 Deadearlier in 2019, but it hasn’t received an official announcement trailer yet.Back 4 Bloodwill be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on an unannounced date.
