After the 7 season run of the NBC sitcom,Parks and Recreation, came to an end in 2015, the cast of the show, including Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Nick Offerman, Amy Poehler, and others made a special appearance onLate Night With Seth Meyers. However, in addition to a farewell to the show, they served another memorable moment with an unexpected make-out session between Plaza and Jim O’Heir.

As the hour-long farewell forParks and Recreationcame to an end onLate Night With Seth Meyers,two cast members, Jim O’Heir andAubrey Plaza,shocked both the audience and their co-stars with a passionate make-out session as the group sangBye-Bye Li’l Sebastianin harmony.
O’Heirreflected on the memorable momentin his book,Welcome to Pawnee: Stories of Friendship, Waffles, and Parks and Recreation, revealing that it was entirely Plaza’s idea.

It was 100 percent not my idea — and that all credit goes to Aubrey’s brilliance and devil-may-care spirit.
The actor shared that the moment was set in motion amid the show when Plaza tapped him on the arm, asking if he wanted to make out during the credits. He recalled in his book, as perEntertainment Weekly,

I received a tap on the arm. It was Aubrey Plaza, who had leaned over Adam Scott and was now whispering in my ear. “Do you want to make out during the credits?”
Describing it as a“straightforward Aubrey/April-like question,”he shared that he nervously agreed to the offer. He further recalled questioning himself, stating,“I just agreed to WHAT?!”

As everyone got ready to perform the Mouse Rat’s song, O’Heir recalledThe White Lotusstar, true to her unpredictable spirit, went all in, leaving the audience and their fellow castmates stunned by the spontaneous move.

Further recalling the incident, Jim O’Heir shared in his book that as everyone gathered to sing along the lines ofBye-Bye Li’l Sebastian, Plaza leaned over and before he knew it, they were in a“full-blown make-out sesh.”
Well, Aubrey had her tongue down my throat so fast that I had no choice but to “follow suit” — If you watch the video, you’ll notice that this is no ordinary kiss. No way. Aubrey and I are engaged in a full-blown make-out sesh.

O’Heir also shared that he loved the reactions ofeveryone, including his castmates and friends,who were in the audience to witness such a significant moment in his career.

“You can see Retta and Aziz open-mouthed and tapping each other in broad gestures of disbelief,” he recalled before adding,“You can hear the audience’s laughter (and horror).”
He also praised Plaza’s ability to create such surprising and memorable moments, noting her deliberate choice to share the kiss with him despite her character in the show, April, often coming out as dismissive of O’Heir’s Jerry.
