However, the critics also did not forget to mention that the movie was not impacted by the omission of Amber Heard’s scenes. Jason Momoawho first appeared as Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman in 2018’sAquamanwas one of the writers for the screenplay. Back in 2022, the actor along with the directorJames Wanintroduced significant details aboutAquaman and the Lost Kingdomat the CinemaCon. He said at the time viaComicBook,

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is amazing. I got to see a little bit of it. Not that much of it. It’s amazing. The action and special effects are amazing. It’s funny. It’s heartfelt. I had a big hand in the script with James Wan. It’s pretty much all me and I love it. I am extremely proud of it.”

The actor later at the CCXP convention in São Paulo, Brazil took the stage to reflect upon his reign as the superhero character. He mentioned that it’s one of the longest characters he has ever played. Momoa also dwelled upon how he ended up writing credits viaComicBook;

“There’s a lot of things you want to do and fulfill as an actor and also for the fans and for myself. When we finished the first one, I had a lot of ideas. And I started to put them down, just put them down in my heart and my love for the character. Then we got a meeting with DC and Warners and James Wan.”

Momoa added that he was nervous while pitching the idea for the sequel and shared that the authorities responded well to it noting Wan liked a lot of ideas and later took that and ran with it. He added that Wan took his idea to another level.

According toLondon Film Premiere, after bringing his ideas from mind to paper and finally on-screen, Jason Momoa now holds a record of being the sixth actor in the entertainment industry to receive writing credits for a superhero character he starred as. The actor is very proud of the movie that was silently added to Max for the audience to stream despite being plagued by a slew of behind-the-scenes drama.

The five other actors who have had the honor to not only star as a comic book superhero but also receive writing credits for the story include; Christopher Reeve for 1987’sSuperman IV: The Questfor Peace, Paul Rudd for 2015’sAnt-Manand 2018’sAnt-Man and the Wasp.
