Apex Legends: 8 Best Legends To Play In 2025, Ranked
Master these legends and your teammates will love you for it.
Winning in Arenasisn’t just about sharp aim. You also need to manage your currency wisely, purchasing healing items, abilities, and most importantly —your weapons.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the weapon choices and aren’t sure which ones are worth your hard-earned Points, then you’re in the right place. Read on to discoverthe eight best weapons to dominate in the Arenas LTM.
8Eva-8 Auto
Get Up Close and Personal
While the EVA-8 may not be the best shotgun in Apex Legends — that title belongs to the Peacekeeper — thePeacekeeper isn’t available in Arenas. So, for all the shotgun enthusiasts out there, the EVA-8 is your go-to option.
Thanks to its fast rate of fire and the largest magazine size in the shotgun category, the EVA-8 is a solid choice for players of all skill levels, especially newcomers.

Another big advantage is its affordability in Arenas. It only costs 150 Points, which means you can pick it up right from the first round. If you’re planning to take close-quarters fights, grab the EVA-8 and watch it shred your opponents.
Deadly Weapon In the Right Hands
You might be surprised that the fan-favorite Wingman isn’t ranked higher, and that’s purely because of its steep skill requirement. There’s really only one thing to say about this gun: if you’regood with the Wingman, you should be using it in almost every round of Arenas.
Many Apex Legends players praise the Wingman for good reason. It’s reliable at nearly any range and delivers impressive damage. Just a couple of well-placed shots can down an enemy, making it one of the deadliest weapons in the right hands.

But that’s the catch — it has to be in the right hands. For newer or lower-skilled players, the Wingman can feel more like a curse than a blessing. Even seasoned players can have off moments with it.

There will be rounds where you miss every shot, and it’ll feel like punching your opponent might’ve been more effective. I still remember the quiet rage I felt after completely whiffing a full mag with the Wingman.
6Longbow DMR
Pot Shots From Afar
If you prefer to keep your distance and engage enemies from afar, the Longbow DMR is the weapon for you.
While it may not deal as much damage per shot as the Sentinel, the Longbow makes up for it with a larger magazine size and faster rate of fire. This makes it perfect for taking potshots and chipping away at enemies from range.
We recommend picking it up in the first round when opponents are low on healing supplies. Break their armor from a distance and let your teammates clean up the rest.
It’s also the cheapest weapon in its class. However, you’ll need to upgrade it at least once to get a sight. A scope is absolutely essential, as using the iron sights at long range is incredibly difficult and unreliable.
Gun Go Brrrrr
Almost every Apex Legends player has something positive to say about the R-99. We’ve all experienced the satisfaction of melting an enemy with it, and the frustration of being shredded by it ourselves.
While the R-99 may not have the highest damage per shot, its insane rate of fire and surprisingly manageable recoil make it a force to be reckoned with, especially in close to close-mid range encounters.
That said, the R-99 comes with two major drawbacks. First, it’s not ideal for long-range combat. Second, and more importantly, you must upgrade it. The base magazine is far too small for how fast the R-99 burns through ammo.
4Alternator SMG
Size Doesn’t Matter
Don’t be fooled by its appearance — the Alternator SMG may look small, but it’s absolutely a force to be reckoned with. That’s why it’s the go-to choice for many veteran Arenas players.
With high damage output for an SMG and incredibly low recoil, the Alternator excels in mid-range combat. While it doesn’t have the fastest rate of fire, its solid magazine size and accuracy more than make up for it.
Apex Legends 2.0 Planned By EA, Won’t Be Released Before New Battlefield
EA CEO Andrew Wilson mentions “Apex 2.0,” though he confirms players shouldn’t expect it out before the new Battlefield game.
Another major advantage is its affordability in Arenas. It’s relatively cheap to buy and doesn’t necessarily require upgrades to be effective, though upgrading it certainly won’t hurt.
3Hemlock Burst AR
I Only Need Three
The Hemlock Burst AR is a top-tier choice if you’re comfortable using burst-fire weapons. With some of the best damage output in its class and manageable recoil, the Hemlock absolutely shreds enemies in mid to long-range engagements.
Surprisingly, it’s also a viable option in close-range fights when hip-firing. The tight spread makes it effective even without aiming down sights. Additionally, you won’t need a larger magazine upgrade since the burst-fire mode naturally limits ammo waste, as you won’t rely on spray and pray technique.
That said, we only recommend the Hemlock if you’re confident with its three-round burst mechanics. If you prefer full-auto weapons, some of the options below might suit your playstyle better.
2VK-47 Flatline
Mid-Range Carnage
If you’re looking for an assault rifle that can melt an enemy’s health bar, you can’t go wrong with the VK-47 Flatline. With its high damage output and manageable recoil, the Flatline is a go-to weapon for many Apex Legends players, including myself.
The Flatline truly shines in mid-range combat but remains highly effective in close-quarters as well. Just be sure to rely on hip-fire when fighting up close.
In Arenas, the Flatline is on the pricier side, so it’s best saved for the second round or later. When you do buy it, verify to invest in at least one upgrade to get a decent sight — it’ll make a big difference in those mid-range engagements.
1R-301 Carbine
No Full Auto in Building
You just can’t go wrong with the R-301 Carbine in Apex Legends,no matter the game mode. While it may not have the highest damage output in the assault rifle category, what it offers more than makes up for it.
Its high rate of fire combined with incredibly low recoil makes theR-301 one of the best weaponsto use in Arenas. In skilled hands, it’s deadly across all ranges — from mid-to-long engagements to close-quarters combat, which is where most Arenas fights tend to happen anyway.
The only real downside in Arenas is its price. It’s a bit too expensive to be viable in the first round. But once you’ve saved up enough points, don’t hesitate to grab the R-301 and be sure to upgrade it. A larger magazine can be a game-changer during lengthier fights.
Alternatively, you can try to get the R-301 from Care Packages, though that might be a more risky endeavor.
