Ryan Reynolds’Deadpool & Wolverinetrailer has got fans quite excited about the movie but curious as well about Logan’s real connection withX-Men ’97. The full-length trailer gave the viewers a much better perspective of the world where Wolverine hails from, and it might just be the hint that fans needed.

It’s only been labeled as speculation since the film is yet to arrive, but what if the Wolverine inDeadpool 3is the same version fromX-Men ’97? For those who already know the story, the mutants in the animated series will all perish except for Logan. And where will he go? Probably making his live-action debut inDeadpool 3.

There is indeed a mirror event that takes place both inX-Men ’97and in the recentDeadpool 3trailer.Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine comes from a place where he was blamed for having let down his co-mutants, which saw him end up becoming a lone wolf. In the aftermath of a seemingly catastrophic event, Logan was the only one who survived.
In the animated show, a similar scene happens, and the audience witnesses how Wolverine walked away while the rest of his former co-mutants are all gone. Interestingly, it also resembles the character’s fate in 2017’sLogan.
